Old school ambiance; definitely a country feel. Good food and friendly service. Wish one was closer to where I live.

There are always hard chewy bits in my chicken that ruins the meal for me.

My wife and I decided try Slopes, where the brisket plays a game of culinary roulette. Apparently, we got briskets from different culinary universes - mine must've been doing push-ups all night because it was tough, while hers was living the tender life. At a steep $60 for lunch, I expected a bit more than a game of bbq roulette. This place is a hit with my older coworkers, but stepping into it felt like a time warp to the 80s. Seems like the decor and cleaning schedule got stuck there too. Let's just say, it wasn't exactly a flavor journey to remember.

Looking at the reviews and over 4 stars, I was going to love this place. I ordered a pulled pork platter with garlic bread and Mac and cheese. My husband ordered same platter, but with baked beans and fries. All the pork was favored in grease. Even putting sauce on it couldn't overtake the greasy taste. I love Mac and cheese and there was absolutely no flavor, even though I could see cheddar, it was like eating plain macaroni. My husband said the baked beans had no flavor too. We usually clear our plates, but not today! $45 was our bill, which you have to pay before you sit down. We went home hungry and both had to take tums as soon as we came home. Went to bed with a stomach ache and we both had diarrhea the whole next day.

Save yourself money and headache by avoiding this location and go to the Alpharetta location where the food is great and the management is warm/friendly. They want to charge for BBQ sauce! The manager had an attitude when we asked for it. The same exact meal was $20 more at this location vs the Alpharetta location. We should have read the reviews. Will never go to this location again!!!

Finally tried Slopes BBQ. It's about 3 minutes from me so had to try it out. I ordered at the restaurant which has an old style country feel to it. Service was fine. Looks like just a few people were back there getting through all the orders. But there was no wait when I got there on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the chopped chicken with a side of potato salad and baked beans. For dessert I ordered the peach cobbler. They also gave me their sweet sauce and spicy sauce. Is the barbecue amazing? No, not really...but I thought the chicken was cooked well, I liked the flavor of the baked beans and I did like their sweet bbq sauce. The potato salad was a miss for me. I like a slight sweeter potato salad. The peach cobbler was good. It didn't come with the icecream; maybe because it was a to go order but it tasted good by itself. I would go again myself to try something else but for now it's an okay restaurant. Nothing amazing or awful.

Worst barbecue place I’ve ever been to. I got a chopped chicken plate with baked beans slaw and macaroni. The chicken smelled and tasted spoiled or old and the macaroni looked fresh out of an instant box. They put a vinegar based barbecue sauce on the chicken when they have 3 different sauces to choose from but they don’t ask you what sauce you want. When I asked to get a new chicken side with the “other” barbecue sauce I received an attitude. The slaw was dry as a bone….the reviews are either paid for or these ppl have been deprived for so long they don’t even know what good food is…

The restaurant decor is very outdated and dingy. The BBQ pork was clean and very good.
