Would not recommend this place to anyone. Do not waste your time trying to make a reservation here. We booked a reservation online months in advanced and recently received a text asking us to call to confirm/pay our deposit. We called the number listed in the text multiple times and no one answered or got back to us. We finally tried calling the main number to let them know we couldn’t get in touch with anyone to confirm and they said they would have someone reach out. We booked a 3pm time slot and when they finally called back to confirm, they said the only time they had was 12pm. They acted as though we had booked the 12pm initially even though we have a conformation email clearly showing the 3pm time slot was booked. What’s the point of even booking a reservation if they will not honor it? Very unimpressed with this place and the poor customer service.
The place has potential, the interior is very cute and cozy, however, the service was appalling. The tea was good and the food was decent. Both waitresses would not seat us at one of the tables we selected claiming the room would be crowded when the other parties arrived. There were no other parties who came. They clearly wanted to be difficult for no reason.
To the owner: As a business owner myself, customer service is what creates repeat customers and a thriving business. I wasn’t going to give a 2-star review but adding gratuity automatically was unacceptable. Of course your staff doesn’t care about the customer.
No accomodations in seating even though 2 tables were empty. Subpar sandwiches. Over priced and zero customer service. Gratuity is automatic so no effort is put on. Very disappointing! Will not be coming back.
Only tea room like it around. The interior was nice and wasn’t too crowded on a weekday. Had to put down a deposit which was unclear where they got the number from and had to provide credit card information over the phone. The deposit was more than the price for one person. Actual experience at high tea was very disappointing. We tried to order 5 different teas which were all out and was forced to pick only a few that were left. They were also out of Shepards pie and tomato pie which was upsetting since we paid extra for the savory options which we didn’t even get the one that we wanted. Waitress was apologetic, seems more like a management problem. The finger sandwiches were nice and the tea we were given was tasty. Would recommend afternoon tea instead of high tea!!!
I called to inquire about The Ginger Room, hoping to have a great experience based on its beautiful venue. Unfortunately, I was rushed off the phone before I could barely get my questions answered. I felt cut off throughout the conversation, and it mirrored some of the other low-rated reviews I’ve read.
As a business owner myself, I understand the value of a little extra patience and how a 10-20 second effort can completely change someone’s perception. It’s disappointing because I would have loved to support this venue, but based on this interaction, it’s going to be a no for me.
That said, I’m sure others have had amazing experiences here. If you decide to go, I hope your experience is much better. Good luck and enjoy!
It definitely has potential but the experience was lackluster. I can't say we particularly enjoyed any of the food. To be honest, it tasted like store bought sweets. The sandwiches and the scones were okay. I expected more considering the price. There weren't very many people there so we overheard a lot of work-related staff conversations. It just wasn't the special outing I had hoped for, unfortunately. On a positive note, everyone working was very pleasant while taking care of us. That is always appreciated.
This establishment has a ton of potential to be great but our experience was only good. A lot if the negative reviews I feel are overly harsh. My wife and I had two pots of tea, and two entrés for $37. I think that is more than reasonable given it’s a small boutique tea shop. Where they lost points for us was the food. The tea was not hot enough to remain hot with milk. The chai, I think vanilla or classic, wasn’t very strong flavor wise. The Earl Grey Creme was delicious. The quiche was not good at all. We were dissatisfied to find that the small sized food was only for the prepaid options. They were out of several items and the menus seemed outdated. We would still recommend, but there’s definitely space for growth.

Physically beautiful restaurant; however, the food and overall experience were not good. Salad was served on a warm plate (also lettuce was hanging off of the plate a bit). The quiche did not taste fresh ( may have been microwaved too much). The tea was entirely too sweet.

Had my bridal shower here yesterday and couldn’t have been happier! The atmosphere was wonderful, the food and teas were delicious, and the staff/manager were phenomenal! Everyone was so nice and helpful. They truly helped me have a wonderful day! I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend checking out the Peach Cobbler tea!

Loved this boutique tea place. Perfect setting for a lazy afternoon tea and snacks with your loved one. Try their darjeeling tea.

My daughter wanted a "fancy" meal and I thought tea would be a good idea. This was not at all what I expected. We walked in the door and a few feet from the entrance was our table, in the center of the room. I wish I had taken a picture. I think it was three feet from the front door. There were items for sale all around us. It felt very crowded. We had the high tea tower to eat and instead of chicken salad they gave us hummus, they never gave a reason why. The table next to us that was served the same menu item ten minutes later got chicken salad. I don't like hummus so that was a bit dissapointing. It just went uneaten. The tea was luke warm, not hot and it was served after we were given food which seemed odd. The sugar was in individual cheap looking packs, as was the honey. We had to request them, they really should just be brought out. The servers both wore jean shorts, which surprised me. Just seems like they should have a dresscode? Someone at the table next to us ordered a coke and it was served in a plastic bottle.. kind of odd to even have that as an option, and then to not even serve it in a glass? I'm surprised this place has so many positive reviews.

As a traveling teahouse lover, this is among the best in the Southeast U.S.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere is cute and comfortable, and the service is warm and friendly. It leans fancy casual (vs. options like Claridge’s or Fortnum in London, or Ritz in the US, which Id classify as “very fancy”).
Food: The scones are some of the best I’ve had, even comparing to the best teahouses in England, and are served with clotted cream (which is rare in the US). There are a good array of tea options, and the staff prepared them well. The savory options with the high tea are well prepared and tasty. The tea sandwiches were good in general, but not particularly excellent or differentiated for the price. The sweets were good, but in truth we typically have found better/more interesting desserts when there are in-house pastry chefs.
Value: Overall, the tea is quite expensive, but is also one of the best you’ll find in the area. I would definitely recommend a visit on a special occasion.

I attended a baby shower there and enjoyed the delicious abundant “tower” of finger sandwiches, scones and sweets. The tea was delicious and the service was spot on! Cheerful and knowledgeable servers made sure our tea pots were full and even offered boxes to take leftovers home. Highly recommend.
