Came here on a double date while visiting our best friends in Atlanta. We loved the intimate setting. Food was limited but drinks were good albeit pricey. Service was friendly and the crowd was inviting. Great place to sit back have some appetizers, drinks some cocktails and listen to some local talent play and sing.

Been going since it opened 10+ years ago. Tamara hosts top-flight musicians every week. Atlanta is fortunate to have a venue that caters almost exclusively to the dedicated jazz lover. May appear pricey to some but the talent one encounters is world-class. Can't recall one performance that wasn't as good as what you'd hear in an NYC jazz club. Backed by an eclectic and varied menu as well. Note: per-person price includes cover+food+drink.

For the life of me I cannot fathom how this place gets good reviews. It is unbelievably cramped to the point the servers kept bumping me as they passed. The food is TERRIBLE. I ordered a steak that could not possibly be cut much less eaten. I will admit the music was good, but I could not see because of the person if front of me. My neck cramped because I had to turn so far to attempt to see. The stage was essentially behind me to my right. Nasty seating position. The best part of the show was watching the piano player change before the show in the parking lot! The guy stripped down to his underwear and changed into a very dirty and well worn suit. He was a good piano player, but it was hard to forget seeing him in his underwear. I suppose the life of a starving artist is difficult. Bottom line, your money will be spent better somewhere else. I will not return.Wheelchair accessibility: I wheel chair will not fit. Place to too crowded for a wheel chair to maneuver.

Wonderful place for a date night! The band was phenomenal!! The food was good! The only thing we would’ve changed was that the waitresses were dressed inappropriately to the point that my husband and I were uncomfortable.

I will go back there again and again. They deserve a 5 in all categories if they did not use plastic silverware. I struggled eating a steak with a plastic fork and knife almost ruining my experience. The food itself was very good!! Drinks are top notch!! I hope this review helps them change their mind about the silverware because what you eat with is almost as important as what you eat especially in an atmosphere like that in order to have a great complete entertaining experience. My rating is based on a complete experience!

The Velvet Note is New York's Blue Note here in Alpharetta, GA. The sound created by a protégé of George Lucas with his guidance is piercing. The food is delicious, and the servers are the best. Kudos to Ms. Tamara Fuller.

Food, Music, and Vibe. I went to this spot to just switch it up and I was pleasantly surprised . I had a great meal with great service and great music. The dark living room feel is just right for the music it was delivering while I ate the vegan lasagna not the best but it was an option . The music was very stellar and I liked how they weren't holding back in their second show of the night . I truly enjoyed it . A must go for great jazz music and great service and vibes with jazz greats also playing some of the greats

Truly one of the best experiences I have had anywhere. From the service to the ambiance to the transcendent music. This place is special. Do yourself a favor and book a reservation at the next available show. You won’t be disappointed. This is what experiencing music is meant to be like.

I went here for the Ray Howards Band’s Very Soulful Christmas and it was AMAZING! The atmosphere of the place completely sets the mood with the low lighting and cozy, comfortable seating (great service too) and of course the band was phenomenal. The musicians are so talented and it was so fun to dance to! If jazz and/or soul music isn’t your thing, this place will change your mind! And if you already love that kind of music, you can’t miss it. This place is awesome and everyone should come here.
