chicken is the best anywhere. their special recipe is much better than the big chain chicken stores. service is exceptional. cost makes this an unbeatable value. you must eat there.

Very small pieces of chicken. Very poor quality breading on outside of chicken. Fries were OK. I had a 3 piece meal and left hungry.

My family and I were in town for a short period of time yesterday. We went to Carters as an "old times" kinda place to eat. We used to eat there when we were younger. They were not that busy, my family a rather large group made up most of the people in the building. We ordered our food and tried to be patient on the length of time it took to get our order. However, after most of our family had already finished eating and left and the rest were just waiting out of obligation as they were done as well, we got a little frustrated. We asked how much longer the wait would be. We were advised 3 minutes. After about 7 minutes we asked again and the older woman with short hair had no idea and did not even acknowledge our question. Finally, a woman with dark hair came out and we asked when the order would be done and how people who came in almost an hour after us have ordered and received their food. To which the woman responded their order was already ours had to be prepared. I said we understand but how long does it take to make wings? She said something like 12 minutes. I said OK, it has been close to an hour, and we still do not have our food. Rather than apologize or offer any "southern hospitality" you expect from a trip to a Blackshear restaurant, we got nothing but attitude and combativeness. We finally received our food. There was an odd sauce on the pork sandwiches we ordered. I asked what it was, she said it was the house BBQ. I advised I did not want that BBQ on it. She said well I have other sauce. I said that was fine but asked if I could get different pork without the house sauce. She continued to be rude and combative. I finally just asked for our money back for the two plates. She told the other woman to give me the money back for one. I advised we wouldn't be eating either. She finally agreed to give the money back for both meals. The food may have been delicious, but the service and the wait time made it as though I would NEVER even try again to eat there. I understand there are wait times, however, the wait was excessive for the amount of people that were in the restaurant.

The food was edible but not tasty. I had BBQ sandwich and it wasnt that good. They didn't put BBQ sauce on it, so I asked for more BBQ sauce. Husband had chicken, he said fries was cold from sitting under lamp I guess, chicken was OK.. I am a fan of carters but this one had to be worst.

Honestly going down hill. I've loved coming to this kind of restaurant but when several times I don't get all the food that I paid for it gets alittle aggravating. Especially when food is not cheap. They also are starting to get orders wrong and I definitely don't go when it's busy so that's not a good excuse. Probably won't be going anymore.

Paid for a 12 piece bucket, and was asked "what side" I wanted. Mentioned I did not think I got a side, but was told I did. So said fries. 5 minutes later, was told "uhhhh, you can have all legs and wings, or wait 14 minutes for fresh chicken". Opted for fresh. 35 minutes later, got a box of chicken with no fries. Was told "you don't get a side", so paid $6 for fries since my womenfolk were expecting fries. Got home - had all the COLD wings and legs. After waiting. Also cold and hard fries. And the "fresh" chicken was so greasy - don't think they've changed the grease in a month. This place is so far "downhill" it's now digging a hole underground. Local peeps - go anywhere else for fried chicken. Will not return.

Where to even start. Chicken tenders were fried so done that they were inedible. Okra wasn't close to done. Took almost an hour to get food and weren't many people there. Utterly disappointing.
