We were there around 4th of July. Place is a little run down. Bed in the room was atrocious. There was some damage to the exterior of the building. Trash left laying around. The empty glasses and trash from previous day were still present next morning (swimming pool area & main floor). Few days after we left, some small charges were applied to my credit card. I emailed them to find out what is that about, twice. Nobody responded to my emails.

We booked the hotel for my mom’s 60th birthday. The rooms were ok! I found random hairs in the robes. I booked the hotel stay for 4 people in a double bed and only had one robe waiting in the room.
The bathroom was in rough shape! There wasn’t any shampoo, the carrier was broken, the shower knob was jiggly, and the bath tub had hard water stains.

One of the WORST Hotel experiences of my life! They discriminate, they violate your rights & they violate the law!
- a lot of difficulty & back & forth for 3 days booking room, dinner, massages
- Called for early check in & found out we were not in pet friendly walk out to grass room as requested, which had to be changed
- Pre charged $200/ day for incidentals
- Rude valet kip snapped at me bc I didn’t want him reaching in my car towards my dogs or belongings. Told they do not provide luggage carts unless we valet at $40 per day
- $28 per day self park / $40 valet
- $55 resort fee! Highest I’ve ever seen! Charged $455 in taxes, fees & parking for 2 nights. Our room was $259 per night (with cyber week 30% off). Almost Doubled that with $227.50 per night in fees!
- room smelled of pet urine & dogs even though charge $150 per dog “sanitation fee”. hair in sink & counter, shower filthy, toiletries in shower empty, bathtub filthy, fingerprints & food on all tables, mirrors dirty, streaks of dog urine on base of bed, water damage on ceiling & black mold, carpet filthy, etc (see pics)
- Grounds dirty, trash & cups etc everywhere
- Was not provided dog pack requested & had to ask multiple times for dog bowls
- After wedding ended above our room, cleaning staff dumped tons of water & flowers all over our patio & sidewalk which could’ve poisoned our dogs
- asked multiples times for 24 hours for housekeeping, hangers, washcloths razors, qtips and body wash that after 5 trips to our room & many texts most was never provided. Told they were out of body wash, wash cloths & hangers.
- Requested window view at Marc restaurant 1st night for my Birthday at time of booking, was not notated & told must’ve requested to be there. Food was mediocre & tasted like canned/frozen and was $205 for 2 people. Charged $18 for still water. Was also told ONLY time available was 5 & we had to rush from 4pm check in but there were only 5 other tables with people in restaurant up until we left the building at 8 after going to tasting room & waiting for shuttle.
- $32 per person for mediocre breakfast buffet that was nothing more than motel continental breakfast.
- Couples massage extremely basic for being so pricey. Just rubbed oil on my body. No hot towels, no hot stones, nothing to cover eyes when face up, no aromatherapy and didn’t even rub my back. spent the majority of time on my hands & back of my knees.
- Had dinner reservation at Versailles 2nd night for our Anniversary. waited 30 minutes for server, then 10 minutes after placing order was asked to leave by the manager Destiny who was very rude bc service dog doesn’t have a “service dog labeled vest” on, which is not a federal, state, local or hotel requirement (see googled info below).
- Went to front desk & spoke to Tia about ALL the issues I’ve had plus what just happened at Versailles. Explained to her I’m diabetic & my sugar was low and I needed to eat. She said we could go to Paddy’s restaurant & as long as not unruly & on leash, no issues (we abided by this at Versailles as well but were still asked to leave), then walking towards restaurant, I’m stopped by Tia, asked about my disability & asked to show service dog badge (again, not required, but I obliged). She then told me it was a GEORGIA LAW, per the hotel security, that ALL service animals must wear vest. Again, not true (see picture below). I was told we were ONLY allowed to be in our room, on the grass outside our room or on the private patio area on the opposite side of the pool. I did not drive 8 hours to sit in my room on my anniversary. at this point my sugar was so low, my vision was blurry, I had a headache & was shaking, we drove to Arby’s and ate in the parking lot.
- Came back to hotel and tried to salvage the evening by sitting by the fire pit we were told we were allowe

2/5 Stars
(And trust me, the second star is hanging by a thread.)
The food and spa? Great. The service? Let’s just say the bar is low For a “high-end” hotel, the staff’s vibe was more “budget motel that ran out of towels.” We came for a one-night girls’ trip, each with our own bags, and the staff collectively watched us struggle with our luggage like it was an Olympic sport. Nobody offered help until I begged the guy at check-in for assistance, and even then, the luggage cart felt like a peace offering. Also they would not let anybody check in until 4pm. Period. Even though we got there at 10 am as per instructed for our spa appointments. The check in woman was so bothered by my asking to check in early. There was one man who didn’t offer to help with our bags but was sure to let us know we could check in early for extra money. The woman check in didn’t offer to store our bags until I asked. I asked for a luggage cart or bag assistance but they all just pointed to the door and said to go find someone outside. This was the common theme amongst the staff here. Pointing, grunting, and passing off to subverting else. That we had to go find. Also, in case we did not hear the first 4 employees, they were really busy. There was a bloody bandaid on the sidewalk when we arrived at 10 am on Saturday. Still there when we left at 11 am on Sunday. Just no attention to detail.
The check-in staff had all the warmth of a DMV employee who just ran out of coffee. If you’re hoping for service that goes above and beyond, prepare to be disappointed; they barely hit bare minimum. The phrase of the weekend? “We’re really busy.” Guess who else is really busy? The Ritz Carlton. And they manage to treat their guests like royalty, not inconveniences.
To summarize: We came, we saw, we struggled with our own bags. If you’re after good food and a nice spa, sure, give it a go. But if you’re expecting service that matches the price tag, save yourself the heartache (and the backache). I’ll be sharing this lovely experience with all my friends—and by “lovely,” I mean “never again.”

Currently very disappointed with the booking process and challenges we encountered to book a room for our daughter and son in law. The lack of transparency on billing resulted in billing errors which dramatically impacted our daughters family, leaving them without access to funds they planned to use for their visit. Chateau Elan reached out when I was at an appointment, but hung up before I could coordinate a call back time. Amenities are first rate, however, they have challenges in communication and managing issues.
Update: I reached out to speak to a manager in reservations and was forced to leave a message. I still have not received a call back.
I hate leaving negative reviews but I feel it’s deserved this time. We had a horrible customer service experience. We made a reservation months in advance for a special weekend. Our circumstances changed and we needed to cancel our reservation 10 days before our stay. We were told we could not cancel our reservation. WHAT?! We had a one night reservation and if we didn’t show up, they would charge us for the night, again with us giving them 10 days notice. We were told this by several people including management. (I’m leaving out the ridiculous things we were told in the process as they shuffled us around and kept us on interminable hold). Three phone calls later, they said they would move the reservation to a different night but we had to pick the alternative night within moments. I would understand if we were calling the day of our reservation (sort of) but we gave them 10 days notice. There was ZERO concern for our satisfaction or our situation that caused us to cancel, which was a serious personal circumstance.

Beautiful facility and enjoyed the wine tasting. Everyone we came in contact with was great.
The showerhead didn’t work properly though and sprayed water all over the place which is probably why it was mildewed. Reached out multiple times to the email that says to report any problems but never heard back.

My fiancé and I had previously visited Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, which is why we returned with serious intentions of celebrating his birthday and potentially booking the venue for our wedding. While the first half of our day, including the tour, was wonderful, the experience quickly devolved into a nightmare during our dinner at Marc’s Restaurant.
While discussing our wedding plans, Catherine Speaker approached us and shockingly insinuated that our behavior was inappropriate. This baseless accusation left us utterly bewildered and deeply uncomfortable. Despite the confusion, we offered to move to another table to avoid further issues.
However, after waiting 40 minutes for two steaks, our waiter came by, confused about why we had been relocated. When we asked him if we had done something wrong, he was clueless. One would think that if guests’ behavior were truly problematic, the staff serving them would be informed!
Seeking clarity, we asked to speak with the manager again. This time, another individual came to our table, identifying herself as the manager of the restaurant, and explained that Catherine Speaker was not affiliated with the restaurant but was the Director of the Winery. This revelation only added to the absurdity of the situation. The restaurant manager, too, had no idea what Catherine’s issue was or why her comments were made.
While speaking with the restaurant manager, a security guard approached us, asking if there was a problem. This escalation was humiliating and deeply confusing; neither of us had acted in any way to warrant such attention. Furthermore, to bring in someone of a physical stature, such as this security guard, to be used as some illustrative measure of authority was completely uncalled for and grossly inappropriate for a place of business such as Chateau Elan. We were treated as if we were guilty of some unspoken offense. The manager asked him to leave.
At this point, 1.5 hours had passed without any food being served. Cooking two steaks does not require this much time under any circumstances. Frustrated and humiliated, we left.
The actions of Catherine Speaker not only ruined our night but also made it clear that Chateau Elan is not the type of venue that values professionalism or hospitality. Her unprofessionalism, poor judgment, and inability to handle the situation appropriately were shocking. Frankly, someone with such a disposition should not hold the title of Director of the Winery. Her behavior demonstrated a lack of qualifications, tact, and basic customer service skills (to put it politely).
To make matters worse, we followed up with an email to the hotel management, detailing the incident and requesting some form of rectification. To this day, there has been no response—a testament to the lack of accountability and care at all levels of management.
We will never return to Chateau Elan and certainly will not have our wedding there. If this is how top-level staff members handle situations, I shudder to imagine the disaster it would have been to entrust them with such an important event. For an establishment that prides itself on luxury and excellence, this was a disgraceful experience.

I loved this place, they have a nice and beautiful outdoor and indoor area, you can do the tasting, buy a bottle or simply enjoy a Glass of you favorite wine, they have so many options of wines. They have a restaurant inside. Unfortunately It was not opened yet when I was there.

I booked a trip to Chateau Elan for a friend’s birthday months ago. While we enjoyed the service from bartenders and servers, the rooms and amenities are not worth the price. Even the front desk was lacking on the service side. It is a nice hotel but many of the fire pits were not able to be used, the wine tasting is just OK, and again for the price, the rooms should be much nicer. I wish I could recommend Chateau Elan to friends and family, however the value is not there.

My husband and I spent a night at the Spa here for our 4th anniversary. The service at the spa was amazing. Jada, the manager at the spa, was extremely helpful and made sure we had a nice time. Our massage was very relaxing. We had a shuttle come take us to Marc’s for dinner. Colin ,our server, was very attentive and our food was delicious. We had a great time and would definitely recommend to our friends and family!

Today, my friend and I took a day trip to Chateau Elan winery in Georgia. This winery is 3.5 hours away from Charlotte and about 30 minutes away from Atlanta.
You can either visit for the day or stay the night at one of their two beautiful hotels. They offer wine tastings and tours, wedding venues, day use cabanas, and overall beautiful scenery.
The wine tastings come with an option to taste 7 different wines. Needless to say, you will be a little tipsy by the end. But don’t fret, grab a seat anywhere on the property and enjoy the sun.I highly recommend visiting. No complaints!

Staying at Chateau Elan was the worst experience, they should remove any branding with “luxury” immediately. Once you get beyond checking in, nothing is luxury after that. The rooms are old and run down, our room was filthy (bodily fluids on the sheets, a dirty bathroom, pills on the floor, food crumbs, etc) and there is no noise control. At all times of the night you hear music coming from the events being hosted on the property, etc.
In addition, room service was extremely slow and the items in the room did not work (iron, blow dryer, etc)
I attempted to contact the manager multiple times to discuss my stay and was told they needed to take a message and they would get back to me each time. I’ve now called 7 times with still no returned call. I most definitely will not be returning and would not recommend staying on the property.

We loved this place! So beautiful and great service. We also loved the wine and the winery. The only thing I wasn't happy with was no soap in the shower. It had pumps and the pumps were empty and so I had to jump out of the shower and grab a bar of soap WHILE showering. And this place is really expensive. So you would think for that kind of money, they would make sure that you have SOAP! But just a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things.
