Two dinners at Marc on consecutive nights last weekend; very disappointing compared to our previous stay. The good: Service was top notch. The bad: the food was mediocre. It's jarring because it used to be excellent, I'm not sure what happened but it is very noticeable. The creamed spinach was a few leaves (and I mean a few) awash with cream and not much else. My entree on both nights was sub-par; a steak that tasted like it had been in the sous-vide too long .. and pork belly that was more akin to biltong (hard, dry and tough). We generally only make the trek to Chateau Elan because this restaurant is so good, after this experience we probbaly won't be doing it again any time soon.

I should be clear - it's not awful, and the service was great - but it doesn't command that price point in it's current sorry form.

We wanted to have the best birthday dinner here and we tried very hard to do so. Unfortunately we started our meal at the bar which aesthetically was lovely but the bartender left a bad taste in our mouth. My husband asked the price of one of his favorite bourbons having to repeat himself several times, was quoted one price then after the drink was served and rung up was then quoted a price over 3x the original price. Instead of apologizing and trying to make the situation better he became defensive inserting his opinion and trying to talk over us while we were trying to figure out what to do.
Nothing was resolved and my husband ordered a margarita instead which was not what he truly wanted on his birthday.
Meanwhile the assistant manager Amy came over to seat us.
Once she sat us at a less then desirable table while we were the first and only guests in the dining room- my husband expressed how poorly the drink situation was handled.
Instead of apologizing or offering any solution she stood there like a deer in headlights and muttered ok stating she would take care of it then walked away.
Our server was absolutely AMAZING and our appetizers were delicious. I highly recommend the mushroom ravioli.
But our entrees were sub par. My husband had the ribeye and I had the sea bass. While I ate the entire piece of fish because it was barely 4 oz my husband barely touched his meat. The sides were less than desirable and disappointing.
Dessert was on point. But Our check was over $400 before tip, At that pricing I'd expect to leave having eaten a full meal. No one bothered to come by and check on us to see how we were doing or how the food was.
I can not emphasize this enough our server was lovely and so attentive! However the bartender and manager seem to be allergic to an apology. They both should be trained on restaurant conflict resolution. We will not be returning.

I really hate to write this review but…we ate here to celebrate a birthday. The fried green tomatoes were good but we waited over an hour for our main meals to arrive. The food was horrible and I do mean horrible. The hen was rubbery and cream spinach was pure water and undercooked. Our server was wonderful and the manager kindly apologized plus removed the meals from our ticket. Very disappointed in the price of this place and poor quality of food. Will not return.

Was surprised by the quality of this steak house at Chateau Elan. Our party had Wagyu, Filet, and Ribeye and all the steaks were excellent, cooked to a good temperature, and the server provided an excellent wine pairing (not Chateau Elan wine). It’s on the expensive side but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was worth the expense. The restaurant is open to the tasting area and rest of the winery so I could see this being a little noisier middle of the day but for dinner it was a good volume for a meal with friends as the tastings had closed by that point.

This restaurant is a must try if you are visiting Chateau Elan or live in the vicinity. The Australian wagyu is one of the best cuts of steak I have ever had and it was expertly prepared. A special thank you to the front desk staff, the chef, and my server Matthew for helping to make the dinner and surprise proposal truly memorable!

Though it is pretty pricy, the portions were good sized. The service was awesome. Hasan took great care of us. The manager was also very welcoming and accommodating.

Just left a business dinner and must say that that was the worst ribeye that I have ever had in my more than 60 years on this planet. More than half was just fat. Asked for it medium rare and I think they ran a bic lighter under it for about 30 seconds. Didn't eat more than 3 bites. Wanted to have them remove it from the bill but did not want to create a scene. I personally would not have paid for it. Longhorns or Outback would have been 10 times better.
Having said that, the shrimp cocktail and the wine were good. If we go there again next year, I will not go or will not eat. It was without a doubt the worst ribeye that I have ever had. In a discussion of the worst meals ever, it may not be the worst meal ever, but it would certainly be a part of the discussion. Do not go and do not waste your money. I have no idea what they paid for it, but it was not worth it. At home now and looking for something to eat.

We had the absolute best service we’ve experienced in a long time thanks to Matthew at The Marc. He was incredibly knowledgeable, gave excellent wine recommendations, and made the entire experience feel effortless and welcoming. He also made me feel completely comfortable and confident dining with my gluten allergy, which meant a lot. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what he does—Matthew truly elevated our night. Thank you, Matthew!

Everything about the experience was impeccable. Our waitress could not have been better and the meal was easily one of the top three we have ever had. The brussels sprouts were the best ever! Highly recommend!!

Great service. I went on my birthday and my husband and I had a great time. The only thing I didn't like the tables were a little tight so it was hard to hear the person you was with.

My wife and I stay at the Chateau Elan for at least 2 to 3 UGA home game weekends each year. 3 years ago the Marc Restaurant was amazing. Each year it has gotten worse with last night’s experience being our final “meal,” there. We sat down at 6:30 with another couple that are friends. Drinks to 20 to 30 minutes per order. Appetizers took an hour. I will say the mushroom ravioli is amazing. At 9:30 with dinner still not being served, we left. They did comp our drinks and appetizers but that is to be expected since we never served our dinner. 3 hours and no dinner.

We should have never gone. Our last meal there 2 months ago, was terrible. The service was good then but the steaks were terrible quality and overcooked.

After spending over $10,000 at this hotel over the past 3 years this will be our last stay. I will post the review of our room experience on the hotels website.

Sat down at 6:30 and still no dinner by 9:30. We left without eating anything except a couple of appetizers and they weren't great. We are pretty sure our waiter never put in our order. I actually feel sorry for him. We were very nice to him regardless of the terrible experience. This was our 6th time eating at Marc and each time the service and food quality was gotten worse.

I really wanted to enjoy my visit here, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish. Partway through our meal, the fire alarm went off — it was loud, disruptive, and made the whole dining area chaotic. We ended up having to evacuate to return to a cold dinner. The waiter informed this happens all the time. Unfortunately, no one from the staff offered an apology, explanation, or any sort of compensation for the interruption. As for the food, it didn't make up for the inconvenience. The dishes were bland and not worth the price. Overall, it felt like the restaurant didn't care about its customers' comfort or satisfaction. Definitely not somewhere I'd choose to return to or recommend. Also every member of our party was sick all night and that is the only place we ate together after traveling.
