I never enjoy writing bad reviews because I know people are usually just trying their best. However, this was not the case this time. There were 5 employees on shift and only one was consistently working, and that was the man who was slicing the meat. I can understand if you’re busy and overwhelmed, but just communicate that with customers. Every single customer in the store had an issue and was either ignored or dismissed by employees. I’m really big to give customer service workers grace became I am one myself, and I understand that sometimes things just don’t go the way you want them to. Unfortunately there are just no excuses for everything that happened. I waited 10 minutes for someone to even take my order. There were at least 10 people waiting for their orders to be fulfilled. They were out of just about everything. Finally, when I received my food, I was walking out to my car, and I noticed a man waiting in the curbside spot. I stopped to talk to him just to let him know that if he was waiting, it was gonna be a little while because It was really backed up inside. He told me he had been waiting 45 minutes in his car for a single meal. I told him he’s just gonna have to walk inside and tell them because at this point they probably forgot about him. Usually, it’s just one customer having a singular issue. This time it was not an isolated event. Everyone was upset and the supposed “manager” on duty was doing nothing to communicate with any of the customers or show her team they they should be doing the same. If you’re gonna have issues, just let us know because we’re all people, and we can understand.
I just really hope this never happens again.

I don’t like doing this, but this place is a mess. Over an hour wait for a pickup order tonight and the people behind the counter were trying to avoid all of us waiting. The manager would say “just a second” and never come back to you. Canceling orders and making substitutions because they were out of a bunch of stuff. “Five minutes” for Mac and cheese became half an hour and it was somehow still scrapings from the bottoms of the pans that just got cooked. If you’re having trouble just say that and be cool to the people waiting. Avoiding me and lying aren’t making the wait more bearable. I don’t know, man. It’s always been fine in the past, if a little slow. It’s bbq. It’s ok to be slow. But it’s like no one knew how to run a restaurant there today. I was there an hour and there were people there before me still waiting when I finally got my food. Never had issues before but this was screwed up enough to write this place off for good.
Plus it was like 85 degrees in there. Pick one way to ruin our night. You don’t have to mess up everything.
We came in for the first time and Journey immediately helped us figure out where to go. She got us some samples and helped us with our order, and was forthcoming about potential allergens. The vibes are classic BBQ vibes, and the food is good. The chicken and turkey were moist and delicious. Even though the ribs didn't fall off the bone, the flavor was still good. The collards were a little spicy but they weren't bad. There was line of something leaking from the ceiling near the bathrooms, so maybe don't sit there.
