Cuzinz The Southern Soul Bistro

While the atmosphere of Cuzinz The Southern Soul Bistro looks nice, the quality of the food and service were extremely disappointing and not up to par.

My Experience:

First Visit: I was initially excited to find this restaurant. I ordered Turkey Legs online, but found out they were unavailable upon arrival. I switched my order to the Shrimp and Grits with grilled shrimp, but the shrimp was sadly undercooked. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was a one-time rush mistake.

Second Visit (Confirmation): I returned and can now confirm the experience was horrible. I ordered the Gotcha Soul Shrimp and was shocked to find they appear to use pre-packaged, frozen Margaritaville coconut shrimp from the grocery store freezer section, simply pouring a sauce over them. This is completely unacceptable.

Drinks: The alcoholic drinks were also terrible. The bartender seemed inexperienced, focusing on making the drinks look pretty but failing completely on the taste. Using Stella Rose as a drink base is not a FLEX, FYI.

Service & Atmosphere: Even with almost no one in the restaurant, the service was lacking.

Overall: I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone ever.

Best grits I've ever had in my 55 years. I don't usually eat waffles but they were delicious. The chicken wings and catfish were very tasty. I will definitely be coming back!!

If you want great food without the hassle of being in metro atl, THIS IS THE SPOT. Great rnb music, drinks for fireeeee, food and service is excellent. Very professional and a vibe. 10 stars

I waiting over 30 minutes they gave me my food away and didn't come back and tell. The shrimp breaded tasted burned. The cabbage taste sweet. (Not soul food taste). No condiments in bag at all.

Service was absolutely top-notch. Everyone was polite, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The music created a really nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious and well-seasoned, beautifully plated, and served with a smile. The ambience and décor were thoughtfully executed and made the space feel inviting.

My only complaint, which may be outside of the restaurant’s control, is that some guests were on their phones using speakerphone or watching videos aloud. It can really take away from the dining experience. I understand that some people can’t live without their phones, but it would be great if guests were encouraged to use them respectfully.

Overall, a wonderful experience and I would definitely return.

I fear I may be hyperfixating as I’m pregnant(lol) but the food is soooo good. I’ve had the fried chicken, oxtails, and smothered pork chops so far. For dessert, I’ve had the peach cobbler empanadas and the banana pudding. The banana pudding is smack ya momma good. I was sad when they didn’t have any the other day, but the chef came out to tell me that she felt the pudding was a little too brown and she wasn’t going to give me that. It’s so good, I almost told her don’t even worry about it and give it to me anyway. Again, I’m pregnant LOL. My only complaint is that the koolaid should have FREE REFILLs, it’s koolaid for goodness sake. Delicious red koolaid. See yall soon. Ok byeeee

This was our first visit. I had the smothered Pork Chop plate. Man, you can't go wrong with this one. I'm ready for a nap!!! Definitely great soul, southern comfort food. Had the side of cabbage and macaroni and cheese casserole, so good! My wife had the fried catfish plate. The catfish plate was really good! 2 nice size pieces of fish. She had sweet potatoes and collars for sides. Both were pretty good. We'll definitely be back.

Had the chance to visit today all the way from Dallas, Texas 😊 and wanted to try some good soul food. Everything was on point. Got the Mac and cheese 🧀, Cat Fish that was seasoned good and Cabbage. I will definitely come back and eat here and the Hospitality and Customer Service was great the owner was super welcoming and nice keep up the great work yall gets a score of 10 from me in all areas.

Great southern soul food, great atmosphere.

Went for the first time last night for my best friend’s birthday.. let’s just start with the greeting..absolutely on point… the owner.. yesssss ma’am… the employees… amazing… now let’s get to this food..1000!!!!!! Good good good..
I will be coming back again until I try everthing on the menu… thanks for great service and atmosphere.. please deliver me some of those cornbread muffins to my address 😜

Absolutely amazing! From the food to the service and the atmosphere has a cool vibe. The live performer was incredible and she made the dinning experience wonderful and relaxed. Smothered pork chops, oxtails, greens, cabbage, banana pudding run don’t walk!! We will definitely be back!! Thank you for great meal!!

First time eating here. The Food was ON POINT AND HOT!!! We(my CUZINZS) had a Lil bit of everything. I had Salmon(appetizers), Soul Food eggrolls(mac n cheese, greens, and yams) included in it, and fried corn. EVERYTHING WAS A 10!!! I WILL BE BACK. GREAT Customer service!!

As a 1st time experience, it was disappointing. I ordered 3 different menu items, spent over $30. When I opened the bag I thought I seen what is suppose to be 6 wings for $10 & when I got home I realized it was only 3 wings in the package. I called the 678 on this Google page & 470 number on the receipt severally to tell them about it for a replacement for another day or simply just refund on that wing order but no answer to tell management or staff about my bad experience so I have to unfortunately leave it here. I even told the waitress that it’d be my 1st order ever placed with them so how can you all just be slick & give me 3 wings when the menu clearly says 6 wings for $10. I tried to avoid to waste my time & gas to turn around after no answer plus to go through traffic again to wait for food a 2nd time in one night is not cool, so like I said I tried to call about it to no avail. I didn’t want to leave a bad review or a low star rating but until this is fixed I’ll leave this here. I understand this is a new business under 2.5 months in Buford but let’s give customers what they’ve paid for. 3 small wings that’s suppose to be a 6 wings order is unacceptable, feel like I just gave away & wasted $10 on that order alone. I support b.o.b but I can’t just accept mediocre service just because we both AA. Let’s do better.
