Over The Top Burger Bar

So this evening was my daughter's birthday. In my house on your birthday, you pick what you want to eat, we can go out, or I will cook whatever. This year, she said she wanted a burger from somewhere new. After a quick Google search and asking for recommendations from some of my coworkers, we selected Over The Top Burger Bar. It was about 20 miles from the house, but birthdays are worth the ride, and honestly, it was a smooth and quick ride from the Snellville area. We all glanced at the menu online before leaving the house, so we knew kind of what to expect. Walking in just after 6:00 on a Thursday evening, I wasn't expecting too much of a wait, and there wasn't one either. As we sat throughout the evening, the tables filled up a bit. I wouldn't say it ever got busy. As soon as we were seated our server, Dennis was over to get our drink order. He was great, just the right amount of interaction. He was available to answer questions about the menu as well as recommendations. We never felt rushed or smothered by too much attention, which can happen when a place is slower. Since this was my daughter's birthday, she got the Chocolate Overload Milkshake and the New School Elvis Burger with a side of slaw. My son did the New York Mac and the Oreo Bomb Milkshake. My wife ordered the poutine fries, and I got the Bufford Blue Burger with fries and an order of the Soy Sesame Green Beans.

The milkshakes were huge, and the finishes were quite sweet. Though once you got into the actual shake, they seemed a little thin. They were good. What we did not know going in and before we ordered was that Thursdays are half priced milkshakes, plus since it was my daughter's birthday, her shake was free.

The mac and cheese itself was really good, and the pepperoni that was in it was good, but together, it was a bit different, according to my son. He said it was good, just different from the normal run of the mill mac and cheese you typically get as bar food.

My wife said the poutine was really good, the fries were crispy, the cheese curds were fried well, and the brown gravy was tasty. She did say that the gravy was poured right in the middle of the fries, so it was hard to get everything mixed in order to get that perfect bite, but once you did, it was awesome.

Now the burgers. At a place named the over the top burger bar, we were expecting a lot. We were not disappointed. With that being said, when the burgers were brought to the table, they looked kind of dry. I did not add any additional condiments. The toppings for the Bufford are kind of light. But once I bit into it, this burger was anything but dry. The patties were jucy, the blue cheese was just the right amount, too much or too little. By the time I was halfway through the burger, there was a puddle on the tray. The Elvis Burger was kind of the same thing. However, my daughter said it was a bit on the dryer side. She ended up taking the plantains off of the burger, she said it made the burger skew more sweet.

Overall, it was a good experience, and we will definitely go back. They had music bingo tonight and every Thursday. Along with karaoke and trivia on other nights, it is a good place to go out for a fun night out. It is a burger bar, and the bar was nice. There was a good selection of drinks. But that being said, since my kids are not that young anymore, they were cool with the bar atmosphere. The one thing everyone agreed on was that the music did get a little on the loud side. Had the place been more busy, it may not have been as noticeable. The actual music being played was awesome though.

Our server (Maddison) was absolutely wonderful and made the experience so enjoyable. The food tasted amazing and everything came out perfect. The only downside was overhearing the bartender repeatedly speaking negatively about coworkers and the owners, which took away from an otherwise great atmosphere. Overall, a great meal and excellent service.

Sat at the bar for 10 minutes and watched the bartender talk to the 4 guests in the building while stocking the bar. Was never acknowledged so ended up leaving

Good food, friendly atmosphere. All decorated for the holidays. I was surprised they added the gratuity automatically and we were a party of 2. I usually leave more on my own. Just check for it.

Food and drinks were decent. Online it says they close at 1:30 am, only to be rushed out the door by their employees at 11:30pm. I’ve been here before a couple of times but I took my family here for the first time and what a bad experience they had.

Absolutely horrible place. Me and 6 people went for my mothers last night in this country cause we wanted somewhere we thought was nice, and turned out to be absolutely horrible. Our server was good but the “manager” in charge was appalling. We ordered 6 different meals and not a single one came out correct. My mother and wife are severely allergic to gluten and onion and ordered them without both. They both came out with gluten buns and onions on both. And neither had cheese or tomato’s which is also what they ordered. So we brought this up to the server and she took them away but when they came back with the new food the buns were right but they both still had onion on them, with no cheese or tomato’s. All the other food was wrong and very bad tasting. The “manager” was too spineless to even come over to us and talk about it. When we finally talked to her she said was threatened cause we didn’t want to pay for our food.
Absolutely horrible place, horrible hospitality and just a bad experience in general.

Left after an hour and 15 minutes of no one taking our order. Waitress had an attitude. Atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable. Other groups abandoned their tables as well. Was told the tap water was bad so they gave us bottled water after about 45 minutes.

Ate at Over the Top Burger and ordered the Unoriginal Burger with a beer and water. Everything was great, but the service really stood out. My server Brittney was super attentive, kept my water refilled without me even having to ask, and convinced me to get a shake which was 100% worth it. Food was solid, service was even better. I’ll definitely be back.

That was us in the previous review! We were there for 40 minutes and didn’t even get waters. Got up and left. Don’t waste your time. The decorations are decent but nothing like they were a few years ago.

If I could give this restaurant, a zero stars across the board for everything I would this place was beyond and I haven’t eaten at restaurants around the world literally

They had no servers the two servers they had were absolutely horrible. It took 25 minutes to get a glass of water.

The food was awful once it finally made it to the table and it was cold
Then when we received our bill, it had 18% gratuity included in it for a four top table and we were forced to pay that because there were some little sign on the front window from July

Do yourself a favor do not go there and waste your money nor your time it was absolutely horrible

Burgers and fries were awesome. Service was HORRIBLE. VERY rude staff. The decor was great. The milkshakes were milk.... Completely melted by the time they got to us. Very disappointed

The Christmas decorations were nice, but that was the only positive aspect of our dinner. Waited 30 minutes for drinks and an hour and a half for food (half of which was wrong). In our 2 hours waiting we saw multiple tables leave before they were ever served. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

absolutely the worst service ever, waited 45 mins and didn’t even get a cup of water or any other drinks. Finally got the drinks and were nothing festive about it them. Awful. Huge downfall.
