This was our first time eating at Sidney's. The service we received was excellent from our waiter. The restaurant was a very quiet and relaxing environment with wonderful views of the lake. Our request for a table with a view of the water was met. The only thing that did not meet our expectation was the quality of the food. Both my husband and I ordered steaks that were far from what you would expect from a nice restaurant. The quality and higher price of the sub par food was not what we expected from such a nice restaurant.
Majorly overpriced for what the Buffett consisted of. Paying almost 100 bucks per person you expect better cuts of meat (Prime Rib, Lobster, Cooked Salmon) instead of Pork, Flank Steak and very small crab cakes. Was advertised as a Breakfast Buffett as well...Breakfast was all of Bacon, Sausage Patties and French Toast. Food was not even hot, maybe just maybe cool to lukewarm if lucky. When you think of Sidney's on Lanier you expect an eating place with a view, not stuck in a Banquet Room with heavy drapes covering everything. And on Christmas Day if you are going to provide Live Music, at least play some Christmas songs. Did not have our Reservation, and then stuck us at some kind of long folding table right next to where the Staff grabbed the Water refills. Expected way more for the Premium Price that was gouged, then they added 24% Gratiuty for a Buffett. It was my mistake definitely, I understand a premium price for a Christmas Dinner, but if you charge it have the food to back it up, not what was presented. The only positive was the Staff. Very friendly, attentive, willing to help. Kudos to the staff. The rest, don't bother keep your monies and choose elsewhere.
Would love to review our meal but nowhere did this say it was a reservation for Tea only. The restaurant isn't even open for meals/dinner on Sunday evening. So not a great review. We did have breakfast the next day and was decent.
We had the breakfast buffet at Sydney’s, sausage and bacon were cold, worst biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. Everything else was ok, service was good. Please learn how to make proper southern biscuits and gravy. Pretty disappointing for the price.
Nathan, our server, was very attentive and congenial. Both the filet and the Bolognese were very flavorful and the temp on the steak was spot on. The molten lava cake with ice cream was HUGE and very tasty!
My wife and I really enjoyed Sidney's. It's the fine dining restaurant that accompanies the Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier. The new head Chef came out and introduced himself after dinner and was very kind and passionate about his kitchen. The food was absolutely splendid. My filet was cooked to perfection all the way through. My wife got a seafood dish with Octopus and Shrimp and she didn't leave a bite. A++
First time at this restaurant celebrating a friend's birthday. We had reservations and were seated right away. The service and food was fantastic. We both hda the ribeye and it was done to perfection. Prices were very reasonable as well. The atomosphere was very relaxed and we didn't feel like we had to rush through our dinner. We would definitely go back.
This place has a beautiful view and has a really cool vibe to it. Food was cooked perfectly and service was amazing. I would highly recommend this place. Chef also provided a little sampler of a few things so good!!!

Very quiet, very few customers, possibly due to storms that evening. But the staff was wonderful. Food was good. The nicest place to eat dinner in Lanier Islands. We would go back again.
We had a very great and wonderful experience with Chef Brian
He made us a very special meal, wonderful dishes. He is so educated and kind.
The pasta is amazing even better than in Italy.
Great mood and atmosphere!
It’s been a long time since I had the same experience to have the very best Italian food nearby the lake in Georgia!

The food price is very reasonable. The service staff is very friendly and the professional. We like the place definitely we will go back again.
Decent food at astronomical prices, service was OK, the server acting somewhat annoyed with our presence even tho it was near empty, he even seemed to laugh at us at the amount of food we ordered, you get three scallops and some white rice for 40 l, definitely wouldn't recommend.
It was a wonderful time of fellowship with our Deacons from Ivy CreekBaptistChurch! great food and excellent service from the staff at Sidney's Restaurant!
Food and deserts were great.
Our Choir spent our retreat at Lake Lanier Island our group had our breakfast and lunch at Sydney Restaurant, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Named for Sydney Lanier a 19th century American poet. I just have to shout out to the folks that work there. God Bless you and your Restaurant John A., your entire staff, and these hard working folks! ?Austin, Maggie, Nathan, Sebel and more.... I particularly asked for names because I was more than completely satisfied with this restaurant, the food, their cleanliness, the buffet selection plus! It was my first time there at Lake Lanier Island and I live in Georgia. So shame on me. Definitely want to go back!!!! ?
