The Baking Grounds Bakery Cafe

The Baking Grounds made my dream wedding cake! It was a literal work of art! The pumpkin layer was my favorite and it was delicious and moist!

I had a great experience at The Baking Grounds Bakery Cafe in Buford, GA. I got the Log Cabin meal, and it was super tasty—hearty and full of flavor. The Christmas decorations were so festive and really added to the atmosphere. Even though it was a busy Saturday morning, the service was awesome. Our waiter, Mig, was super friendly, answered all our questions, and made sure we were taken care of. I didn’t get a chance to try the bakery items this time, but I’ll definitely be back for those. Great food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere!

This place is a must when it comes to all things sweets and baked!!!! I don't even live in the town or state but will make sure if I'm remotely close ( within 2 hours, I'm going to have to go back!!,) The staff was very friendly, they have a great variety of options and literally, EVERYTHING looked incredible! YOU MUST CHECK IT OUT!!

Baking Grounds made the wedding cake and grooms cake for my daughters wedding and we could not be more pleased. Both cakes turned out amazing and everyone raved how good they were! We literally ate on this cake for a week after the wedding and it was still so moist as the day of the wedding. We were so pleased. Thank you for the amazing job!

Parking: Plenty of parking. Never had an issue with finding a parking spot.

When traveling I like to go to local bakeries this is by far the best. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and they change the decorations for each season. The service was great and kind, offering great recommendations. I got the shortbread and my cousin got the chocolate upside down cupcake. The cake was moist. The shortbread was hard to resist. Very excellent. I highly recommend and will be returning soon. And also they took the time to brand their own hot sauce. *Chef's kiss

Food was passable. The tables are extremely sticky & when mentioned to the server I was told it was because the varnish was coming off. If that's so, then at least put paper over the table top so it feels like it's a bit cleaner and your hands don't feel like they're gonna stick.

Popped in for breakfast - had a breakfast bowl with sausage, which was very good. Especially liked their home potatoes, properly crispy and delicious. The bakery also looks pretty great, not actually sampled it yet but will remember it next time I want pastries or a custom cake. The atmosphere is nice and my cafe mocha was excellent. Service was fast and friendly.

I was excited to try The Baking Ground after seeing its great reviews, but the experience was a letdown.

Our breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive, during which we noticed 6 other tables that came after us were served first. We also felt uncomfortable as the only minorities there and received several stares from other guests.

When the food finally came, it was bland and unseasoned but we didn’t complain and was very respectful. Although our server was friendly, the overall experience was disappointing. Staff members also looked at us as we left but didn’t acknowledge us. We decided to skip trying their pastries and won’t be returning.

Came here on a Saturday morning around 11:30. Our server was friendly but I noticed that several other guests that were seated after us received their food first. We waited way too long (about 40 minutes) for a simple, bland breakfast. I was excited to try some of the pastries but didn’t bother after the mediocre food and service. The awkward and uncomfortable stares we got from being the only people of color in there didn’t help much either. I don’t see how this place is so highly rated.

We've used Baking Grounds first for our Wedding, then my parent's 60th birthday party, and now for our baby's first birthday party. The cakes were EXCELLENT each time. The most recent was a custom cake where I just gave them a general idea of what I wanted. It turned out perfectly. Love the cake quality of this place and will definitely keep using them for big events!
