So my family & I were passing through Cairo and was told this place was sooo good, even better than Hip Hop Fish & Chicken in Tallahassee, which was hard to believe from the start. I will be the one to confirm they do not come close to Hip Hop, at all. Not only are the prices very high for the amount of seasonless food but apparently there is a difference in the default drink size depending on if you go through the drive thru or go inside to dine which didn't make sense because regardless, its the same price. My mom, grandmother & I ordered a meal for each of us (catfish fillets, mullet, and shrimp plates). The drive thru menu board states each meal comes with a drink. However, it doesn't specify what size, nor does the employee ASK, so we're thinking like every other normal restaurant, the drinks automatically come medium. We get to the window and the total is $68 just for the drinks to be SMALL. Now had I not asked for a cup of ice, I wouldn't have noticed this automatically but when they gave me the ice cup, the ice cup was MEDIUM. Extremely confused, I asked the young lady who brought our food out why would our meals come with a small drink but the ICE cup comes medium. She goes on to ask in response if we ordered in the drive thru or went inside and I asked why would it matter (because regardless, the meal should come with a default sized drink - meals are the same price so...). She says oh if you go through the drive thru & you don't say what size you want, they just give you any size and in response I stated that is stupid and made no sense. Mind you, part of my family went inside to sit down and dine and all of their meals came with a medium drink without them asking for a medium. The whole ordeal was irritating. Not the worst situation, but why on Earth would I want a small sweet tea... but a MEDIUM ice cup, makes zero sense. Also the food was not seasoned at all, my catfish fillets tasted like pure water. My mother stated her mullet was not great either. It was only semi good because the food was piping hot. The best item on the plate were the hush puppies (they were seasoned). This was a hit or miss as I am not from Cairo and they missed... fix the menu board outside to display a default drink orrrr train your staff to ASK customers what size because not everyone is familiar with your odd procedures. Also make sure your staff SEASONS the food consistently.

I was highly impressed by the young lady at the counter four of us shouting orders and adding to a tab that was never ending. She got it all right the first time around. And the food was really good too. Sweet tea was fantastic

Food was not as good as usual The fries were hard or rubbery not sure why. I ordered livers and gizzards. The gizzards were unusually tough also. Still will give Mr. Chick the benefit of the dought.
Great place to eat. Great food. Clean. Friendly staff. Been there many times. Have not been disappointed yet. Cool selection of memorabilia.

Mr. CHICK is always yummy! We are new to town and we're so surprised to see how many different delicious menu items they had! Not just CHICKEN! And the staff is 👌 awesome! You just gotta try Mr. Chick!
