Makes one hell of a strong case for the best barbeque in Carrollton. First off, the staff is awesome. Strip is incredibly nice and egregious and makes a point to refer to you by name. That means a lot in my opinion. Beyond that though the food is consistently excellent. The menu is changing all of the time and if you want any of the popular items, you better get there early cause that stuff goes quick.They take COVID seriously which is a huge plus for me. Temperature checks at the door, distance seating, and disposable utensils and such. They make such an effort to make customers comfortable and it is probably the only business in Carrollton that I truly feel comfortable dining in. That's saying something to me.Seriously. If you haven't visited South of Heaven yet, you owe it to yourself to stop by. One of the absolute best restaurants in town if not the best.

I gonna propose to gf here as soon as I get a girlfriend. Like nawt right away because we have to go on dates, I have to meet her parents, find out why she's mad at me, then realize it's because she hungry, take her here and then propose. If she says no, then I'll be ok because I'll just eat the food here and realize it's all I need

I am sure it was better with a full menu and in the mansion but with small menu and crammed in the dinning cart, it left a lot to be desired. Food served on syrofoam didn't help any. Not sure I will return

More than BBQ, South of Heaven is an experience. Blending tradition and innovation in mouth watering ways ever since Judd and Kate came to town. I'm always amazed when I meet people who haven't eaten here. "oh I've always meant to go". These are clearly people who don't accept happiness into their lives and I hope you don't know anyone like this. The world is too dark to have people like that in your circle.Go to South of Heaven. Enjoy meat coma. Rinse repeat.

One of the best barbecue sandwiches I've had in a long time the barbecue sauce is incredible the homemade pickles or spot on and good Lord Almighty get the Boudin balls I need a stretcher scratch that I need an ambulance to come get me because I can't walk to the car I will definitely be back oh my gosh excellent

We are from out of state and are here with local relatives. The place is nothing special and overpriced. We sat in the train car and it was poorly lit even in the afternoon. $10 for a pork sandwich and one side.

This is a really neat spot. My family came here after a baseball tournament. We are in the midst of the COVID pandemic but were able to eat inside, and I really appreciated the way the staff was handling the situation. Our temperatures were taken before going in, and of course all the other proper precautions seemed to be taken. We ate in a really neat train car. All the staff was super friendly. I'd give the food a four (good, not the very best, but definitely worth having again), BUT, I think they were operating from a limited menu, and the staff was so friendly and the place so neat that I just had to go with a five overall.
