My favorite restaurant. The chef's Thursday night specials are delicious and are an outstanding value. Beautiful view. Great service. Inside or outside dining. Worth the drive. We have eaten there 3 Thursday evenings during the last two months.

Moved indoors due to weather and had prime window seat. excellent service and food. Very pleased with our meals.

Very nice view and the staff did a great job. If you are a bit fluffy, the chairs are terribly uncomfortable. We both had the she crab soup which was really good, but the fish and chips, not so much. For the price, would really have thought this would have been better.

We went there for our 22nd anniversary and had prime rib. It was fabulous! Tasty and Perfectly cooked!

We eat here about 6 times each summer. 2022 has been much better than previous years. We always make a reservation! We usually go at 6:00. The kitchen can get behind later in the evening but we have had excellent food and excellent service this summer. The wait staff has been great this summer. The food is generally plentiful. I had the pecan crusted trout with a delicious side of diced butternut squash with maple bacon. Entrees come with a side salad, starch, vegetable, bread. Our food was served hot and the server was attentive. My husband had a 6 ounce filet and it looked like 4 ounces, so he was disappointed and helped finish my food. It is great that the Chophouse has had a good staff this summer. We don't like the way the loud live music on the dock takes over the upper outdoor restaurant on Saturday evenings, so we try to avoid Saturdays. Sound carries upward! We went on Friday this time and there was live music upstairs outside with Tom, a singer and guitar player. He played a good mix including Eric Clapton, Jim Croce, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin's Bobby McGee. The music was a nice low volume so that we could still chat at our table. Without a beverage, our bill was $31/person. with tip, no dessert.

Myself and some of the girls went to the Chop House for lunch to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. We ordered appetizers and then the fish and chips (all around) and everything was delicious! Delightful open air dining with a fantastic view of Lake Burton topped it all off! One of my favorite places to eat and relax with friends and family.

Laprades is TERRIFIC. The venue on the lake and view from the restaurant is wonderful. Get there by boat or car.....either way.....you won't be disappointed. Staff is smiling, nice and happy to serve. We go every Friday for a wonderful lunch and then once each week for dinner. Super nice to unwind and have a well made martini !!

It has been a about 3 years since we've attempted eating here. Last time we had reservations it took 45 minutes to get 6 pieces of bread for 8 people. Our friends drove 2 hours to meet us. The food was not good. This time wasn't much better. Attempted to grab some drinks at the bar and a to go order. Just got attitudes from the staff. Told us they were too busy. Why not put up a closed sign if you are unable to receive more customers. The lack of staff and long wait times are an ongoing problem that are not covid related. Do yourself a favor and eat downstairs. The food is cheaper and tastes better.

We had a reservation and showed up and got seated inside. Our group sat for 20 minutes before someone came to even take our drink order. The hostess and multiple other servers kept asking if anyone had gotten to us yet and they hadn't, none offered to help, no one knew who was supposed to take out table... Server finally comes and takes our drink order, then tells us that basically they are out of the entire menu.. Seriously, the entire menu except i guess burgers and chicken tenders. The entire brunch menu all they had was pancakes.. It was 1pm.. How is everything out? Ultimately I had no interest investing 2 hours of time waiting for a burger... One of the worst experiences at a restaurant i've had in years, at the end of the day im sure i'll get a response about "short staffed" which has become the new excuse to provide poor service but this is a very poorly run resteraunt and all the staff in the world wouldn't of fixed this, they didn't really seem all that busy for the amount of staff we saw. Overall the location is nice after coming off the lake but this place needs new ownership.

Happened upon this place while traveling through the area and glad we stopped. Party of 7 and we were seated right away. Food was great and it is a cool spot to watch the boaters coming in and out. Our waitress was super nice as well.

Just meh. The location gets the stars. Service was fine. Food was underwhelming. Seemed the chef was afraid to overcook anything so calamari was soggy, fries were soggy, bread was soggy on my husbands sandwich. I ordered the turtle cake to go and when I opened it later to eat, it was chocolate lava cake. Super disappointing for a pregnant woman craving caramel.

I got fish and chips, the fish was delicious but my fries taste like they had been reheated in the microwave. They were limber. The hushpuppies were burnt. The atmosphere was really nice. The waiter he was nice.

We called around 4pm if we could make a reservation on a Sunday. She said that the latest they took reservations was for 5:30pm but would accept walk-ins til they close at 8pm. We arrived at 6pm and was told the kitchen was closed. Who shuts a kitchen down at 6pm on a Sunday? Then we were lied to about being able to eat. We drove 30 minutes to get there. I would not give this place any business, it seems they don't need it. By the looks of the other reviews, they could care less about having customers. Why even be open?

Our day on Lake Burton included lunch at The Chophouse. The good: Friendly and helpful server Willing to accommodate food allergies Meat had a good flavor Indoor and outdoor seating Sweet potato fries were good The not so good: Bread/bun was not fresh Food took a while to arrive at the table We had a drink spill we cleaned up with no offers of help from staff Elevator was out of use to carry food delivery upstairs. We had older adults who had difficulty with stairs. Friends who live on the lake said the food quality is very inconsistent. All in all, the food choices on the lake are limited, so try the Chophouse and hope for the best.
