Stopped here after a long drive in the middle of no where on happenstance. The owners self manned this authentic bbq stop. Just how I like it! Had ribs, Mac and cheese, beans, and chicken sandwich all well portioned. Value=excellent they are under charging relative to the HICKORY SMOKED PERFECTION. If this bbq was in a city it would cost 3 to 4x for the flavor and people would flood in. If you’re anywhere close, It’s local, real, Georgia bbq. Side note I live in Indiana and will likely not be back for ten years but they deserved the review. Also side note I too own a business and would hope if it was a bbq place I’d even be close.

TB&J BBQ in Clarkesville, Georgia, is an absolute gem for barbecue lovers! From the moment we dug into our meal, it was clear this place is something special. The barbecue here is so perfectly smoked with hickory wood on Tyler’s homemade panel smoker that it bursts with incredible flavor—no sauce needed! That said, their mustard sauce is an absolute revelation, adding a tangy, delicious kick that elevates the experience even further. We tried a little bit of everything, and every bite was pure perfection. The pulled pork sandwich with slaw was juicy and packed with smoky goodness. The sample plate was a highlight, featuring tender, melt-in-your-mouth brisket, flavorful smoked wings with a spicy barbecue sauce, and more of that phenomenal pulled pork. The sides—coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans—were just as impressive, each one perfectly complementing the main dishes with their own distinct flavors.

This little place is worth the beautiful drive up Hwy 197 N toward Lake Burton! Friendly, casual atmosphere, dog friendly and excellent fall-off-the-bone ribs and pulled pork! I finally found a good BBQ place that truly knows how to make baked beans that compliment their meat!! Don't go to the lake without picking up BBQ from TB&Js on the way!
