The Old Bavaria Inn and Restaurant

My wife and I arrived just before 2pm. I had to search for a bit to find the entrance. It is a small entrance off of a tight area between the buildings. It was fairly busy when we arrived. We were seated at a table just as you entered. Service was not all that great. It took a bit to get service, then it took quite a while to get the food, then we had to go hunting for our server to wrap things up, get our leftovers packaged, and get our bill. The three stars this restaurant gets compared to the four and five stars of other supposedly German restaurants in Helen) PROVES that this app is BS !! The old Bavarian in the German food is BY FAR better than any other restaurant in Helen. The sauerbraten, red cabbage and sauerkraut are as good as I can make it home (and I am a very good cook). The restaurant is so quaint with authentic German food ! The pretzel and beer cheese was fantastic and flown in from Germany. The German potato salad was also great. The only comment I have about it, though, was that they served it cold. I always thought that German potato salad was served hot. It was delicious either way!
