So I just left from up here and I typically stop here maybe once a week or a very frequent enough to know exactly what I want. I only come this way to order the fried green tomatoes in the past I’ve had issues but whoever the owner is has always made it right. I respect them as a business. I do enjoy their food, but whoever the chef is up there today and the cashier I just ordered a large order of fried green tomatoes. I paid $10.26. I open my container and it’s only five slices of tomatoes and they are tiny. I get it whatever tomato is on hand depending on if they’re in season or not it is the summer. They are definitely in season and it’s just no excuse for this sorry excuse for a large order $10 worth of fried green tomatoes. Whoever chef James is he is the reason single-handedly that I will not be returning. I just called up there and try to double check and make sure that he knew it was a large order and not a small order and he decided to double down on these small soggy worthless tomatoes $10 for five slices of green tomatoes and I come up there enough to know this is a small order and typically a large order contain 7 to 8 slices and they are much bigger. This is bull crap if I pay it with my card, I would have disputed it.
Dang saw them on DoorDash but wanted to look up reviews before I ordered. I would be so upset if I ordered with these expensive DoorDash prices and get an “incomplete” plate worth of food. Oh well

Waited an hour for my food which was served COLD, not an ounce of seasoning in sight, they forgot one of my sides and the portion sizes were from a kids menu. The restaurant is an embarrassment to soul food restaurants.

Waited an hour inside the store for 2 vegetable plates. Food was extremely cold and bland and the portion sizes are small. You’ll get more portion size at an elementary school lunch room. The peach cobbler was awful as well. After waiting an hour they still got my order wrong and I had to go back inside to wait to get the correct items I ordered. I try to support black places as much as I can but this is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a black restaurant. I do not recommend going here and will not be back. How in the hell do I wait an hour for 2 vegetable plates and they’re cold and bland???????

I usually don’t pay attention to reviews because they can be false, but today man oh man was I assured that the reviews stand correct.I don’t know if the cook is lazy, or just overwhelmed. The only thing that was “ok” was the waffle 🧇 from the “Da Big boi” breakfast combo. Over hard eggs chopped up to make em scrambled, burnt sausage link, and what upset me the most Grits straight trash.

I wanted a hearty, southern-style breakfast before heading back to NC from the south side of the airport, not in a chain restaurant. Donya’s was a happy surprise with decent portions, and reasonable prices. They even offer plant-based sausage to go with the grits, hasbrowns, and toast, and all the usual meat options are on the menu, too. Modest, clean setting next to a BP gas station that mostly serves a take out crowd on styrofoam plates and plastic utensils, but there are a few seats if you want to dine in.

Went here for steak and eggs. The food was phenomenal. The ribeyes had one of the best flavors I have had at a restaurant. The prices were great too! 1 of the 3 steaks came out a little well done but they were more than happy to fix it and when it came back out it melted in my mouth it was soo good. The owners run the restaurant and they stopped by the table to check on us. It is family owned and you can tell they started it and run it with love. Will 100% be back and recommend it to everyone I talk to about steaks!

Won't order here again. Ordered fried egg on my sandwiches and both were delivered with gross, runny scrambled eggs instead.
I specifically always order a fried egg for this reason and scrambled on a sandwich is always soggy. Since it was Uber eats, I can't get my money back either. So you won't get my business again.
