I got the pasta and chicken with white sauce. That is exactly what I got— a tasteless entree NO seasoning at all. The chicken remind me of the Tyson strips in a bag YUCK. The sauce was not creamy it was watery. The pasta was overcooked. The food is far from Cajun more like a bag of frozen Alfredo

Sincerely, the customer service was great. The woman I talked to was friendly and gracious and I really thought that set the tone for what I could expect food wise but I was wrong…

The food was questionable at best and I would consider the food “inspired” by Louisianan culture but I would not say it’s “authentic”. Both entrees had entirely too much salt and tasted like they were over-salted with store-bought “Cajun seasoning”; the kind with very few spices but overloaded with salt and pepper. The kind non-Louisianans think “make” a dish creole or Cajun.

In both entrees, it tasted as if the food had been made earlier during the week, frozen and and reheated with day-old shrimp thrown in the mix. The shrimp was obviously not cooked or marinated beforehand or with the sauce.

The rice was also soggy and tasted like the kind you’d parboil in a bag.

Thanks Cafe Le Rue but I don’t know if I’ll come back. I don’t know if this was just a one-off and the regular cook was out of town or what but as a first experience at this particular place, I was underwhelmed and disappointed.

Ms. Kelly is a lovely server and my compliments to the chef who made my delicious read beans and rice and desert of beignets w/strawberry.

As I just returned to Columbus from New Orleans a few days ago, I must say that this was on point & a lovely reminder of the delicious food I ate there.

First time here...Sunday early afternoon, no wait, not busy. Waitress was nice but seemed hurried with no one really there. Ordered hushpuppy appetizer but we never got it...food came out so we just didn't say anything. Had pasta bowl with sausage and french toast bacon cheeseburger, 2 waters....$37 ish. Pasta was really soft and taste like jar sauce...when I think of Cajun I think of authentic flavors, luv and soul in food but this wasn't any of that. Cheeseburger tasted strange and they only cook it well done, no other option. No flavor at all. My husband got sick when we came home after eating as well. One and done for me.

Absolute ZERO!
It’s been about 5 years since I ordered from here and I’m starting to recall why. I tried to call in an order at 7:26 and was instructed “after 7:15 you have to place the order in person” I said okay with confusion but whatever. I leave the depths of midland racing to get there in time before they close.. to arrive at 7:40 door locked, open sign off, and I’m informed the worker was in her car already aiming to pull off nothing was said when I go to pull on the door except from another potential patron advising that they closed and pointing to the employee stating “she already pulling off” . It’s been a while for a reason and won’t be for a long time to come!!

Great, authentic cajun food. We will definitely be back for the boudin!

We are hear from Washington State to see our daughter graduate basic training. We went here tonight for dinner we heard from some local people that this place had good Southern food. Well let us tell you it did not disappoint at all Kelly was our server and she was exceptional she gave us a idea for the appetizer it was the tots and they were amazing. My wife had the catfish Po-boy and our daughters boyfriend had the shrimp Po-boy and I had the gumbo the seasoning was spot on. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who asked. Again it did not disappoint. Thank you very much for your guys southern hospitality.
