The sushi was excellent and the prices reasonable. The interior gives vibes similar to that of an old, small family diner but with a Japanese touch. The cashier, who is likely a part of the family business, was very friendly and patient as she answered my questions about their diverse menu. The wife and I were quite happy with this find.

I’ve been eating here about once a month since 2021, every single time it is amazing. I like Japanese food, and all of the food I have tried here has been amazing. But, I am very picky about fried rice. I don’t like most fried rice from even Benihana, yet Japanese Express’ fried rice is better than any other rice I’ve had.
Dine in is always a great experience, it is very clean and the staff is very nice! For take out, the food is neatly packed into bags and always warm.
I could not recommend Japanese Express more! I would rather eat here than anywhere else in Columbus!! Thank you for being the goat!!! 🐐❤️

JL Japanese Express is exactly what you’d expect from a quick-service Japanese spot—and honestly, it delivers. It’s not a fancy or high-end place, but if you’re looking for something fast, affordable, and delicious, it’s a solid choice.

We ordered a little bit of everything, and everything we tried was flavorful and satisfying. For the price and convenience, it definitely exceeded my expectations.

My daughter wanted to go to JL express, so we did. It's more of an order to go place but we ate inside. The lady there was very nice,and the food was pretty good.

$18 scallop dinner came with 8 pieces of thin scallop with 2 lbs of rice. no way of contacting them without driving back up there

Hands down my favorite restaurant around. I’ve ordered the sesame chicken bento box twice now and it is always fresh! The miso soup is always so flavorful and the salad with ginger dressing is so so good! ?
