The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. As I approached the counter to pay. I was hearing a lot of f-bombs from the employees. There were three working. Two in the back preparing. And the person that was taking payment for the meal. I'm not saying that I don't, occasionally, use profanity. But in a setting like that. I don't know if you question the quality of the food. I don't think that would be a concern. But you sure don't want to hear all that in a public restaurant

Called in an order for 5pc chicken fingers and double fries with honey mustard, NO HONEY MUSTARD even after my husband asked to verify and the guy said in the bag, NO DOUBLE FRIES, barely one order. I also ordered a quart of Brunswick stew . I ordered 3 large sandwiches all BITESIZE, 1 hot and 2 mild with no slaw, well guess what ALL 3 WERE HOT AND SLICED. I called to let them know and it was “ oh sorry we can do something next time” I said “ yeah that will never happen”. I spent $50 and some change and 2 of us threw our sandwiches away. THANK YOU MACON RD BARBECUE!!!!!!!😡😡. In June of 2025 I bought over a $92 wort of meat after not eating there for 4 yrs they were very pleasant and after I asked for a couple samples I ordered more and it was GREAT!!! I have been going back at least 2 to 3 times a month since with no complaints and great service, the first time I call in they weren’t that pleasant food TOTALLY MESSED UP AND THE FEMALE THAT ANSWERED PHONE WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN ( and I was nice) could use some classes in customer service. I guess I will be going back to Countrys Barbeque again since y’all don’t care. Money nowadays is to hard to come by. BYE!

Food is good when fresh but closes early. Management is rude when you confront them on closing early. They must have so much business they can afford to lose all the customers they want. Not a great experience. Will not return until apologized to.

My favorite bbq of all time. When you walk in & see the old school wood paneling on the walls & decor that hasn't been updated probably ever (yet it's still CLEAN, not caked in dust or neglected) and very simple tables and booths that the focus is the BBQ & it's going to be tasty. It's in my hometown, and is a must stop whenever I visit Columbus. I have not found any other BBQ that even compares to it despite trying many different places! I personally love the chipped BBQ sandwich and Brunswick stew - but you really CAN'T go wrong.

Went here during my lunch break. Service was great, friendly staff. Pricing was very reasonable. Once I got back to work, and opened my plate there was a bug in my Mac and cheese. When I called the restaurant back and advised it was a small roach in my plate the response was “If you said a fly okay—But I haven’t seen no roach, I’ll let you talk to the manager.” Once he got on the phone there was no apology, just cut and dry “bring it to me and show me” *click*. The service up to that point was great, but to be so cut and dry as if I’m not a paying customer?… So I will do just that. Show you.

I got a scramble dog there on June 17th 2025 for lunch and it was the worst shit I had in my life. I wouldn't feed the rat that crap.. The hotdogs tastes bland , the shredded pork was horrible.

I just had the driest piece of $13 chicken in my life ! I have been going there every week for 40 years and I still got the yesterday's sad 1/2 chicken. The guys cooking could care less ! I sad it looked old but they still chose to slap that wrinkled piece of garbage on my plate. I still gave a $5 tip. I'm done now. i guess they should just give up!

Overall good experience. We tried 4 sides and two meats (pork ribs and pulled chicken). The chicken was good and moist. The ribs were honestly not great. I would not order them again. Very tough. All the sides were tasty. Nice folks running it.
