Millhouse Kitchen and Bar is definitely top tier for casual yet special occasion dining. The atmosphere is incredible over looking the river and the spacing of tables was perfect and something I definitely noticed. You don’t feel like people are elbow to elbow with you and listening to your conversations. Our waitress was the absolute BEST. We had Kathryn and we will definitely ask to be seated with her in the future. All of her recommendations were spot on, as though she knew exactly what we needed, right down to wine selection. We were lucky enough to also meet Daje (another waitress) who was just as extraordinary and friendly. Both of these beautiful ladies made our unplanned dinner stop while passing through Columbus (from Tuscaloosa to Savannah) something to remember. In the future while traveling, we will deliberately be stopping in for the incredible food, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I’ve visited Millhouse 3x now, and unfortunately, my latest experience marks a significant decline in both the quality of service and food.
Our first visit was stellar, earning a well-deserved five-star review, but this most recent experience was disappointing to say the least.
Atmosphere: Upon our arrival, we encountered a loud and boisterous party nearby that overshadowed the ambiance of the restaurant. While I understand that noise levels can sometimes be beyond management's control, the lack of consideration from this group made for an uncomfortable dining experience.
Drinks: The cocktails we ordered were enjoyable, but unfortunately, the bartender seemed to lack the necessary experience and knowledge of even basic recipes. This inconsistency in drink preparation detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.
Food: Unfortunately, both my dish and my spouse's left much to be desired. My spouse ordered shrimp hushpuppies, which were overcooked and, frankly, shouldn’t have left the kitchen in that condition. I opted for the scallops served over risotto, but was disappointed to find the risotto entirely lacking in seasoning. In a restaurant where prices are on the higher end, I expected much better from the kitchen.
Price: Speaking of prices, we found the meal to be overpriced for the quality of food delivered. We left feeling that we hadn’t received the value we anticipated based on past experiences.
In summary, this visit was the worst of the three, and sadly, it seems that Millhouse is falling off. With each visit showing signs of decline, I’m afraid this will be our last. I hope they can address these issues, as they had so much potential.

Was very excited to try this place for our 16th wedding anniversary! Made reservations, told them the special occasion. When we were seated there was a man in the room arguing on the phone and he was actually our server. He proceeded to come to our table and tell us all about he's custody battle in where his kid was going to school. Not at all conversation for any fine dining restaurant or anniversary dinner. When my husband asked for a manager, Kyle came and in his words "I know this ship has sailed" and I think becuase he felt that way there wasn't anything he offered other than he wished he could make it better. Guess as a local, I'm always trying new things and I really expected so much more from what others expressed to me. What a sad event. Thank you for being a downer for my anniversary! Stick with what I know!

Went to Millhouse Kitchen + Bar tonight for our 16 year wedding anniversary. My husband made reservations almost a week in advanced, and expressed the reason for our first time visit to the establishment. While being seated there was a man in the room on the phone having a very heated discussion on the phone. After a few moments, he came over to our table as our server and proceeded to tell us about the custody issues he was having about where his kid was going to school. Being polite, thinking he would stop, and that was NOT the case. Now, listen I get we all have bad days and rough moments, but as a person previously in the service industry, THIS is NOT the place! There is a vibe and atmosphere I expect to receive when I come to your business to celebrate a special occasion. I have already picked out almost $50 in appetizers and this is not appropriate table side conversation, at Smokey Bones, let alone a FINE DINING restaurant. After completely crushing the vibe, my husband requested a manager, and Kyle was of ZERO assistance. His exact words were "I'm sure this ship has already sailed". Excuse me? Everyone always wants to say, make your issues known before you post, well we did. Nobody cared. Not sure who the owner of the restaurant is, but I hope they see this and understand why I will no longer be interested in hearing how good this local place is from friends anymore. Instead, I'll be sharing how no matter what you do to prep a place for your visit, if they dont care, then they dont care. I'm so disappointed on the treatment from this establishment on our anniversary night.
My husband and I stopped through Columbus GA for a nice dinner before heading to Florida the next day. One of the locals suggested that we try Millhouse Kitchen + Bar. My husband and I ordered the Ribeye and collard greens and for dessert had the banana pudding. The food was great! I must say our waitress Daje was amazing! She was very attentive friendly and very professional. She checked on us to make sure we were ok! That meant alot. The atmosphere was amazing, it felt like home! After we ate my husband and I had a cocktail and just enjoy the rest of our night before heading back to the hotel. We plan on stopping back through on the way back from Florida! Great job Daje! You guys have to keep her!

For starters, this place is great . My husband and I went here on our anniversary and were treated so nicely. Our order came out at a very decent time, and Daje was our server and made sure that we liked our order and asked often if everything was met to our satisfaction. She was very funny and the sweetest server we’ve had in a very long time. She tended to our needs very well the entire time and made sure that we were comfortable.
My husband got the crushed puppies, and on the other hand, I had the pork shank and the Marsala sauce. We split a wedge salad. The pork shank was very tender and well-seasoned, along with the other food, and the salad was very fresh as well.
My husband and I will for sure be returning and we will be asking for Daje to serve us once again! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Definitely recommend coming here!🙂

Food was very good. Would have preferred to have more than 3 scallops for dinner at this price point. My wife had the ribeye. That was the best choice. The best part of the experience was Daje. She was perfect in every way. Thank you Daje!

Thank you Daje for an amazing experience our first time at Mill House. We were in town for some meetings and wanted a great food experience- you certainly gave to! You were so pleasant and the food was amazing. We will continue to lift you and your children up to King Jesus for guidance and direction. Keep your eyes focused on Him and He will be your provider!

Had a great meal, fantastic environment, and Deja was an amazing server. We’re now best friends. She’s coming to our place for Thanksgiving this year. The boiled peanuts and fried pig skins were amazing. Will be back.

Excellent service by Melana, our wonderful server! The cocktails were very refreshing!! The salmon is one of the best ones I’ve had. The husband had him a filet mignon. It was tender and juicy season just right!! Plus, it’s an old Mill House, who doesn’t want to eat at the old Mill house!

Our server Daje was beyond phenomenal. Me and my husband split the Caesar salad , all of the ingredients tasted fresh (which is always a plus and we love a good salad). I was very full after the salad so I just ordered the filet which was perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the prime rib and he stated that was one of the best prime ribs he has ever had. For dessert I ordered the crème brûlée which was also amazing. Long story short this place is on our top 5 list to dine in in Columbus and Daje made our experience unforgettable, it’s hard to find good service in this city and she’s a gem.
We had a wonderful dinner at Millhouse Kitchen & Bar. Our server, Daje, was fantastic. She was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. She was so great about answering all of our questions and helping us choose our entrees. My husband ordered the pork chop and I had the chicken and spooned biscuits. Both were fabulous! Great service and delicious food in a beautiful setting will definitely have us returning.
