Amazing bbq place this is probably one of the better barbecue joints in Columbus. The staff were very nice and the atmosphere was cool. I will definitely visit this place again sometime down the road. The only downfall in difficulty you will have is finding Parkinson’s. It’s in a downtown location. Besides that it’s a great place that serves great barbecue.

Had the brisket and no way no how was it brisket. It was stringy and nothing like brisket. Most likely it was a chuck roast. The service was good and atmosphere fine but food atrocious and dry.

I used to come quite frequently with my dog to order the brisket tacos. I enjoyed them and the friendly owner/manager who would come and chat with me and offer my dog water. The last time I was there, I ordered the same as usual. However, when I got home and bit into my tacos, a long piece of hair was embedded at the bottom. I truly believe it was placed there on purpose, just because of how entwined it was and how I had to pull it out from my mouth. It was extremely long... unlike an accidental hair that might fall. Either it was intentional or poor hygiene. Regardless, I will not be back, and, in good conscience, cannot recommend it to others. I tossed the entire meal, wasting my time and money.

SMOKES is my family's favorite restaurant here in Columbus. We drive from Forsyth four times a year and are always satisfied. Our server was Jeremy, who was also the bartender. He was always attentive and ensured we were satisfied with our food. I ordered a full rack of ribs, and my husband ordered the smoked chicken plate. My ribs were tender and juicy, and my husband also enjoyed his food. I placed a to-go order for my daughter, which was the full rack of ribs, which were also tender. For everyone who has come in the past and had a bad experience, I would like to ask that you give them another try. If unsatisfied with your service or food, speak with management and voice your concern. I assure you, they will make it right. My husband suffers from PTSD and is a service member and we decided to stay in for this Veterans Day. We order from Grub Hub and no one ever informed us that’s they didn’t have a specific item and they still took the money. My husband informed Grub hub and they gave him a song and a dance. I called BOURBON AND SMOKE and was told they ran out of wings and that was good enough for them. Not Vet friendly and don’t recommend them to support our troops.

Atmosphere: Love the low lighting/peaceful ambiance. The floor/tables were super sticky.
FOOD: The brisket was not smoked. No smoke ring and it looked/tasted like crock pot beef. The BBQ Mac’ n cheese Sandwich was good but only had 4 noodles on it. I suggest ordering a large bowl of it instead of a sandwich. Sweet potato waffle fries and collards were AMAZING!
Price was on par and reasonable.

No one was there besides us. Flys were swarming us and the table as soon as the food came. The staff was outside making videos of themsleves which is probably why the smoked wings were not available. No one started cooking on time. Food served did not seem to be at proper temps or very fresh. Would not go back.
Nice place. Nice environment. If there was one thing that I didn't like, it was the flies. I don't know if it's a particular time of year or what but it was pretty annoying to start off but eventually once you've covered everything everything was fine.

Overall, some things were good but we ordered wings and the waitress said they were smoked then fried. We think from how they look taste and smell that they were broiled in the oven and BURNT. They tasted REALLY burnt too. Doesn’t even taste like chicken. The Mac and cheese is basically craft macaroni with some extreme dryness. It was hot and fresh though. The bbq sandwich was pretty good. As well as the salmon. The fries and okra was also delicious. But I wouldn’t order the wings ever again!
