It's great having a distillery, locally, in a small town. Soldier of the Sea Distillery offers a good selection of whiskeys and is owned by a US Marine vet. I make it a point to support local businesses, especially those owned by military veterans. There's a bar in the lounge, and they have a cocktail menu that's very good. They also have tastings so you can try their various whiskeys before you buy. My favorite whiskey so far is Spirit Tree, but they're all very good! I'll be back!

We had the most fun at Soldier of the Sea than we've had at any other distillery and we've been to many! The building was an 1893 cotton warehouse still with the original roof so it may throw you off a bit. However, when you enter "The Hive", it's gorgeous and welcoming!
We were there on a Friday night and were joined by the friendliest locals we've ever met! The bar was packed and we all had the opportunity to share stories and laughter until closing! The owners Mark & Jennifer are so open and inviting you can't help but settle in and feel comfortable! Cheyanne was our super friendly bartender and boy can she mix some fun and creative cocktails! From the New Fashioned to the Screaming Cicada, she has definitely mastered her craft!
The whiskey and bourbon Mark is crafting is unique and absolutely delicious, you've got to do the tasting! With his wife's passion for everything bee's, the added honey influence is very pleasing to the palate! Whether passing through or a ways up the road, I highly recommend a visit to Soldier of the Sea, you won't be disappointed!

My husband had his 40th birthday at SOS this weekend and we all had a great time! They were able to cater some food for us and were flexible and accommodating. I would recommend SOS!
A wonderful couple making delicious whiskey and even better, it’s in our little town of Comer! Great place to relax, enjoy time with friends and enjoy a really well made beverage. The whiskey sour is my favorite! Definitely come visit this jewel of a place.
