We went in for a late lunch today, this restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. This is not my first time here, I just need to tell you guys that the bbq, brisket, chicken halves and smoked wings are amazing!
Brisket is the ticket! Smoked chicken is good if not dry. Banana pudding, slices of cake are awesome. Slaw, and tea are good also.

Just had lunch at Big Oak and it was very tasty. I had the chicken plate with the sauce- make sure you get the sauce- yummy. My husband had the bbq plate - he was happy too. Loved the coleslaw- that’s kind of my thing and I loved it!

I’ve been eating at Big Oak for over 20 years. I’ve eaten at almost every other bbq place within a 50 mile radius and Big Oak beats them all. Outstanding service. Chicken half cooked to perfection. Fall off the bone ribs. Pork hams cooked on a rotisserie, smokin hot. Best stew I’ve ever eaten. Slaw is delicious. Side order of fries, hot and crispy. Awesome sweet tea. Ila, Georgia is lucky to have a place like Big Oak! If you don’t agree then there must be something wrong with your taste buds!!!!!! Go Dawgs!

I’ve eaten here 3 times now. First time was when they were on 98. Wasn’t impressed. Gave them another chance when they reopened in Ila. Absolute worst brisket I’ve ever had in my life. The ribs were okay But nothing to brag about. I do like the barbecue sauce. The Brunswick stew had no flavor and just tasted like pork. The portions are very small. They literally gave me Six fries with combo. The third chance I gave them was on their wings. Wings are pretty hard to mess up. First, They were not deep fried like I expected. I got the garlic Parm and they only tasted like smoky chicken. No garlic Parm flavor. They shorted me two wings and Offered me a dessert. I chose the banana pudding worse banana pudding I’ve ever had . just tasted like mushy bananas. I’m not one to complain or leave bad reviews, but this is literally the worst barbecue joint I’ve ever ate at and will not eat there again. Three strikes you’re out. I don’t know how they have such good reviews Honestly.

Positively delicious! Friendly people, good country music playing, nice atmosphere. This is my first time ever having brisket and I’m so glad I chose here to be my first. Moist and tender. Delicious fries as well!

Honestly. Wish we read the other 1star reviews prior to visiting. Would have rather stopped the Walmart a couple miles down the road. Mac and cheese is soggy and inedible. 6 year old took a bite and was done. Coleslaw was bland. Beans more than likely came out of a can. Pork is dry. None of the food is hot. Save yourself the money and buy yourself a big bag of lays potato chips. Food is definitely a 0 star experience.

Got a BBQ sandwich plate today and I have to say it may be the best one yet! I've never really had a bad experience here so they just seem to be improving. The pork was perfectly smoked, tender and juicy. I wish I ordered two. Lol. Keep it up!

We got two BBQ plates. So good!! Coleslaw is the best I have tried in a long time. I don't get coleslaw very often cause most places just can't get it right. You guys nailed it!!! The stew and BBQ were prepared to perfection. I will be back. I want to try something different everytime. Thank you for the awesome food. Try it. You will not be disappointed!!!!
