Great old style atmosphere. Awesome service. The waitresses were very nice. The food was great. I had the open face BBQ sandwich with fries and stew. The stew is top notch. The sandwich had enough meat to make another sandwich with the 2 pieces of white bread they bring for the stew. All in all its a great place and I will definitely go back often

Me and my daughter ate her Thursday afternoon for lunch. The BBQ had a weird taste to it along with the ate had the same weird taste. I've ate here before and the food was pretty good so decided to go back for lunch. I couldn't even eat my sandwich or stew the flavor was almost like a chitlin flavor, pretty nasty. I'm not sure if they changed vendors for their meats or what but something was different. I'm not going back there for a while. There was an older gentleman and his wife that was there and they was saying the same thing about the flavor of the stew they ordered.

We went in for a late lunch today, this restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. This is not my first time here, I just need to tell you guys that the bbq, brisket, chicken halves and smoked wings are amazing!
Brisket is the ticket! Smoked chicken is good if not dry. Banana pudding, slices of cake are awesome. Slaw, and tea are good also.

Just had lunch at Big Oak and it was very tasty. I had the chicken plate with the sauce- make sure you get the sauce- yummy. My husband had the bbq plate - he was happy too. Loved the coleslaw- that’s kind of my thing and I loved it!

I’ve been eating at Big Oak for over 20 years. I’ve eaten at almost every other bbq place within a 50 mile radius and Big Oak beats them all. Outstanding service. Chicken half cooked to perfection. Fall off the bone ribs. Pork hams cooked on a rotisserie, smokin hot. Best stew I’ve ever eaten. Slaw is delicious. Side order of fries, hot and crispy. Awesome sweet tea. Ila, Georgia is lucky to have a place like Big Oak! If you don’t agree then there must be something wrong with your taste buds!!!!!! Go Dawgs!
