Bread and Butter Bakery is a cute bakery in the town square in Covington. It is sooooo cute with immaculate vibes inside. We tried numerous drinks, macarons (oreo, red velvet, and pumpkin), and oreo cake. We thoroughly loved all of it, it was so fresh and we have to say the red velvet and pumpkin macarons were so delicious.

Everyone and I mean everyone recommended this place so we were excited to go. The bakery display was only partially full when we came, no big deal. We didn’t know what certain things were so we stood waiting for the girl on her phone at the counter to help and she didn’t so I approached her to come over and tell us what things were. She didn’t this by saying “I think this is” and “this looks like” I said okay we’re here in the afternoon so does this cooler get restocked every morning? Well come by then so we can try a bunch of things, she began stammering about their producers and it depends and never really gave us an answer. It is chaotic, unorganized, and doesn’t appear very clean. The staff is not friendly (aside from the girl who was at the coffee counter who seemed very nice) we ended up not coming back.

Loved visiting this little coffee shop during our mother daughter trip to Covington. It was our very first stop when we arrived in town (coffee!!) & our last stop as we were leaving (more coffee!! 😂)! The employees were friendly, took the time to make conversation, & my drink tasted the same each time. I had the caramel latte & it was perfection 🤩👌 I’m really wishing I had asked how to make it because now that I’m home, I’m missing it! 😭

Regretful experience with my order taking an hour for simple chicken salad croissants. Nothing to cook or toast. The young people at the front acted like they were immune to working. The barista was working circles around the others.
If I had not prepaid and ordered online I would have left after the terrible treatment.
Part of my order was missing as well.
The sandwiches were very good but please hire some responsible employees with good attitudes!

Very bad service for online order, we had to ask three times for it, in the third time they actually had the order just waiting there I guess until we asked again? they passed by our seats like 4 times… it all took 45 minutes longer than the estimated time. The order was also wrong, it was missing items (two pasta salads) and the order also didn’t had a single utensils.
The food was good, but the general experience made it all feel not worthy at the end, I don’t really recommend anyone to do an online order here.

Overall, they have great food options and decent coffee. The set up is a little strange with food and drinks being ordered at different sides of the store. Service has not been stellar likely due to the fact that employees have had to run to both ordering sites after taking my order for a pastry and coffee. Perhaps they were short-staffed the times I've been in, so I'm looking forward to giving them another try soon. 🙂

Let me first say, the manager/owner? Maybe? Here, is a great guy. Nice to talk to also. With that said. He needs to fire almost all his staff and re-hire more qualified individuals. The one star reviews from the last month are absolutely accurate. As well as, Tap machines have been “down” for multiple multiple weeks. I tested the theory one day to see if they were down, got a card, and was able to fill a cup. However now, the young ladies who work here and are working the registers are clueless as to how to even work the cards or load them, I just have a card sitting with money on it they refuse to re-activate for me. they don’t even charge the iPad for the tap cards anymore. they mostly just gossip and laugh behind the counter and show each other things on their phones. Pretty nasty service. The phase of coming here is dwindling. Very sad. The only good worker here is the older lady, and she is grumpy most times but damn that girl makes good coffee what can I say. I’d be grumpy too if I was working around young gossip girls who put in 1/8th of the effort she puts in.
Rant over.
I've been visiting Bread and Butter for several years now, every time I come to town to be with my family, and it's consistently one of my favorite spots.
The location is ideal, and the people make the experience even better. Gina is always a sweetheart, Brea is fantastic, and it's been wonderful getting to know Zac and the rest of the team. Their warmth and hospitality make every visit memorable.
The ambiance is what keeps me coming back. Whether I'm working on my laptop with a cup of tea or coffee, or tucked away in the cozy back room with a good book, it's the perfect environment. The desserts are always tempting, and I'm excited about their upcoming wine and beer options -- I personally think I work even better with a glass of wine!
Bread and Butter is more than just a café -- it's a true community hub. It's a great place to meet someone for the first time, hold a meeting with a mentor or guide in the early morning, or simply gather with friends. I often see women and men groups meeting there, as it's clear this space was created to bring people together.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a welcoming, inspiring place to connect, create, or just relax.

I stopped by after work today to get a slice of cake, and left with three! Cassie, at the counter, was super sweet and personable, and handled the little rush that was going on super well. The cake is amazing, too. Really good flavor without being straight sugar, and not dry or too dense at all. Unfortunately for my wallet this will definitely be my new after work spot

The coffee staff is nice. The bakery area staff acts like they hate customers and wish we would die.
