Just arriving to Covington super excited to see what the town has to offer and I stumble across this lucky day taco place, the atmosphere seems right up my alley what doesn’t sit right with me is I order a vegetarian burrito ( I have been vegetarian for 10 years) and they gave me a chicken burrito, I realized after a couple of bites I had realized it was definitely not vegetarian my stomach instantly turned. I explain it to my waitress but it was made to be as if it wasn’t a big deal they remade it again but I could barely take a bite because I was still feeling uncomfortable with what I just had ate. When I got my check I noticed I was charged for my meal. I asked them for a discount or something management can do and she gave me a $2 discount… so the price of eating meat for the first time in 10 years is $2. Manager didn’t even come to the table to apologize. I didn’t want anything for free but at least a sincere apology or offer something for the trauma it caused me. Don’t think I will be back.

We came here after being informed that the local eatery we wanted to go in the Covington Square had a two hour wait. We were seated immediately with no wait, we would soon discover why. Service was pleasant and prompt, no issues here in the beginning. The 1st strike came when our waitress delivered our Queso and Guacamole with chips and we asked for napkins. We had been seated now for 20 minutes and two margaritas were served (they were great by the way) and we still did not have silverware or napkins. We had to ask yet again a passing server for napkins 10 minute later, this is just poor training and lack of process on the establishment’s part. Second strike, came in the form of cold queso, cold cheese dip is not great, if fact it’s not even good. So the third strike came when 55 minutes after sitting down, we finally got our food…every single dish was cold….not even lukewarm ☹️. So, off I go to find the manager to express my discontent. After ignoring me for a minute, she turns to me and ask me what was going on. I told her cold food and she tells me it’s really disappointing she has an entire kitchen that can’t function with any efficiency. That was it, that’s all she said. I explained to her that I own a company that specializes in helping car dealerships garner feedback and reviews to improve their customer experience. She said something to the effect of blaming the kitchen staff again. She never once asked me if there was anything they could do to improve the situation.
So, I just went back to the table where two of our family members said that they wanted their food heated up. So I waited and waited and waited for someone to come by….another 10 minutes passed and I finally had to flag down the waitress (this is after the manager had walked out on the patio, helped clear a table next to us and did not even bother to stop and check on us ?. So, I asked the waitress if she could heat up the food and she said no, we don’t have a microwave. She did offer to remake the food at which we declined in the interest of time. When I asked for the bill, I asked her to remove the two items since my two family members were not interested in cold food. The server replied I’ll need to get my manager to approve that. I got my bill and the two items were removed but a 20% tip was already added (I’m sure they have a policy for large parties, we had 6 people), but in my professional opinion when a restaurant fails to deliver hot food, how do you justify automatically adding a 20% tip??? ?
Truth be known, I would have tipped the waitress regardless because I don’t hold her responsible, even for the napkin miss. Why? Because it’s the manager’s job to not only train employees properly but to also walk around to check on your guest and make sure your team is delivering.
There’s nothing more impressive in the restaurant business when a manager walks around at some point during your meal and ask hey is everything all right? This is restaurant management 101. This manager accepts no responsibility for the restaurant’s failed service and delivery. This experience was a complete fail. One ⭐️!

It took over 1 hour for our food to get to us after we ordered. Then all the food was wrong. Burritos were wrong we ordered beef they came in chicken we ordered tacos and came with wrong meats. Then they took another hour to "fix" it. The food was cold, the cheese was hardly melted we were there for over 2 hours after ordering and hardly ate because it tasted awful. And you can't say it was busy because we're were the only people inside! Will NOT be returning.

The old “house made” chips were much better. Other than that, love this place.

Swung by to have a beef burrito, some chicken flautas and guacamole. The burrito had rice, beans and cheese; the chicken flautas were crunchy and drizzled with Mexican creme and covered with cheese. The guacamole was fresh and the tortilla chips were house made and seasoned well. Nice ambience and beautiful town! Our Lucky Day ?

Really happy I found this place! Their drinks are great & strong. My favorite dishes are the tacos, burrito and quesadilla. I typically always leave with a Togo plate when eating here.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. Sat outside. Getting a server to the table took awhile. Once we got a server he was on point. Tacos were ok.

Our first time here, I was not impressed! The chips were greasy and hard. It was a Friday night around 9pm.

Food was great, server very friendly but charging 1.50 for each tiny salsa! A bit ridiculous as you are a taco shop. Never seen any taco shop ever do that.

If you go, go for the tacos and nothing else. Beans have very little flavor. Rice was undercooked. Salsa was bland. The Mexican mule was just okay. My chorizo taco was great. Could eat those until I get sick.

Overall, some of the menu items were a definite hit or miss. The tamale was a bit expensive for a single tamale and had the most disappointing taste/texture in the corn. The texture of this tamale is approaching a concrete sludge but somehow still edible. The Barria fries were delicious! It made up for the tamale. The tacos were just kinda meh. Would recommend this place more for their drinks and appetizers. I got the ducky frozen marg and it was delicious. Topped off with the cutest little ducky. The regular margarita was also good!
The vibe of the staff was interesting to say the least. There was obvious tension within the ranks. The bar tender was nice, knowledgeable about the menu, and made pretty good drinks. It seemed like some of the waiters/bartenders were feuding with each other—which I don’t mind and is some pretty good entertainment.

The menu has selective items (unlike other places with 500 menu options), but what they have has been honed to a tasty goodness over the years. So happy to see a place with actual spicy adult drinks, and homemade tortilla chips. You also can’t beat the location.

Jacob was a great server. Made a craft margarita for me which was delicious. Shrimp taco was deliciously spicy and flavorful.
The only thing I didn’t like was all the plastic used for cups/cutlery.
