The Sunday turkey wings were delicious!! My daughter had the catfish and she loved it! Everything was fresh and hot! This was our first visit. We will definitely be back!

Was in the area and wanted some barbecue. Meat was undercooked. One of the ladies was not nice at all. Won’t come here again

I’ve passed this place several times and decided to grab a quick sandwich on my way to the store (10/1/22). It was empty when I arrived. It was sort of confusing because no one was in the first part of the entrance. I didn’t see anyone until I walked around to another side. I was going to leave until someone spoke and then I felt obligated to order. The place could use an update. It was kind of dark and dated. I ordered a fish sandwich. It looked good, but it lacked flavor. I ate what I could drown in hot sauce and tossed the rest when the hot sauce ran out.

Fantastic food! The ribs, potato salad, dressing, sweet potato cobbler and banana pudding are all really really good. Ribs are the kind that are so good sauce isn’t even necessary. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Wait was not bad but the cashier could have been friendlier. Ordered turkey wings. Should have checked my meal before I left. One dry wing.
This place is wonderful. Staff is super friendly and food is consistently great!!! I’ve never had anything less than amazing here!!

The staff was very nice. The food was a huge disappointment. Mac n cheese, although the flavor was good, was cooked to mush. It was like baby food or for people without teeth. I've never had elbows cooked that much. I actually didn't know they could cook that far down. They should've put them in the blender and served them with a straw! When you fall asleep cooking the pasta throw it out and start over when you wake up man! Pasta's not that expensive and the bigger loss comes from dissatisfied customers who never return. Now about that cornbread. I think they forgot the baking powder. It was so dense you could hear it hit the container. I think it weighed a half pound by itself, not to mention it looks nothing like cornbread. I didn't even try to eat that thing! Fried chicken wings were broken and had their blood cooked into them. And they were hairy. Really Ma Lena?? They tasted like they were only seasoned with salt and garlic powder. Nothing southern about that. The turnip greens had good flavor, but were salty. Actually the Mac n cheese was heavy on the salt too. So, I nibbled on the chicken avoiding the cooked blood and hair, sucked down the Mac n cheese and ate the salty turnips. Within 20 minutes of finishing the food I felt dehydrated from the high salt content. Never again! Because you can't submit a review without a star rating, I tried to rate 1 star, hit 2 by mistake and can't change it. Epic failure! My first and last visit. The pictures say it all.

1st time eating here last week and I’m headed back!! The food was GREAT! Well seasoned Turkey wings, dressing moist , fried chicken was juicy and crisp. All the food was delicious. Staff was welcoming

The food was absolutely amazing!!This was my first time & I will be back. Several friends & church members have told me about this restaurant over the years. Glad I finally made it by. I purchased two plates Fried fish & Vegetable plate.The customer service was beyond amazing too!!

Sometimes I decide to shocking my system by eating something relatively healthy usually courtesy of Ma Lena's Soul Food restaurant. Their delicious Pinto Beans, Green Beans, Mac & Cheese, Sweet Potatoes and Cornbread are certain to strike a blow at my ever faltering Pancreas.
