It was good, just not my cup of tea. Online, it says they have breakfast 730am-10am M-F with brunch on Sunday. Bc of Covid, they are only doing Lunch. Wish I would have known before I paid $14 a person to eat the geriatrics 11 a.m. special.Green beans, black eyed peas, grits, cream corn, ham, and Corn bread were not what I was expecting for 11am.That being said, The Creamed corn was good, fried chicken was very good, and banana pudding was good.We got there at 10:55 a.m. but they were not ready to serve until 11:20 am. We should have asked if it was breakfast but what else do you serve at 11 a.m. on the weekends? Would have left if we hadn't already waited so long.I get four stars because the food wasn't bad it was just overpriced and they need to let people know that they have just stop serving breakfast because I can't be the first person to go in there at 11 a.m. on a Sunday expecting breakfast or brunch and I get the 330pm old folks home special

If you want a simple selection at a great price, this is your place. We had the Sunday brunch. $12.95 a person, drink dessert included. Today's selection was grits, fried chicken, pork loin, black eye peas, creamed corn, smoked sausage, mac n cheese, watermelon, coleslaw. corn bread, yeast rolls. Peach cobbler, banana pudding, strawberry cake. All scratch cooking. Peaceful setting. Of you like the old school southern cooking this is your place. Let yourself in through the front door. Worth the stop.

Sunday family style lunch/ brunch was very good, fireplace was going setting the ambiance. House is very nice inside, nice gray some of the older houses are still around. Would recommend if you are over that way

Normally the Foster House is not open in the evening except for special holidays and/or events. Last night was a very nice special Valentine's Dinner prepared by Chef Amanda. It was a 3-course dinner and included a chicken, fish and beef entrée of your choice with salad/appetizer, dessert and drink included. The ambiance was very nice with candlelight and white tablecloth. We made reservations late but was able to get in. The staff at The Foster House are so nice and accommodating. They truly are like family. We always enjoy eating there and the food was delicious!!! Their Sunday brunch is always delicious as well with the best fried chicken you will ever eat. You should make it a point to visit this nice old home with lots of character and tradition.

Good southern cooking lunch buffet on Sundays. Fried chicken was good and the banana pudding was good as well.
The exterior is quite rough, easily showing its age and need for repair, but, go inside and you feel a welcome like you are coming home. The restaurant is separated into several rooms, most of them with quaint decor and old time fireplaces. The tables are covered with cloths, and the unmatched tableware only seems to make it more homey. The intimacy of the rooms which only have three or four tables each allows for old friends to get together to share their conversations without straining to hear. The service was attentive, friendly and hospitable but not intrusive. The southern food was delicious and proportions were ample for lunch. The Foster House has become our favorite to meet our friends because we can relax, take our time to talk, and actually hear each other. I almost don't want to share this review because I don't want the Foster House to get too busy!
