Ichiban Steak & Sushi

Food and service is always good! Just wish they had changing tables in women’s bathroom. Sucks to leave my table to walk all the way to my car to change my son’s diaper. Would be my only advise

Spent about $200 for a group of 3. The restaurant was insanely hot. The last time I was there was equally as hot. Please fix the AC. I won’t be back until the AC is fixed.

So…. Let’s start with I am what would consider a highly respected highly graded reviewer who generally gives high marks. So when I give low marks it has to be bad… Although I sat with my family, I am only reviewing based on my personal experience. I was there today 7/25 for my wives birthday lunch. We were seated quickly so that was a good start. Order taken quickly, so far so good. Time for entrees, everyone gets food except me because they got my order wrong. No worries sir, we will get it to you right away. I ask my wife and family not to wait for me of course because their food will get cold, they eat until they get full, I finally get my meal at the point when they are done. So at this point I just as for boxes for the table rather than get dessert or ask if they have a cake since the meal is already ruined. They bring us four boxes, as my wife is handing out boxes, what three of my family members swear was cockroach comes flying out of one of the boxes, lands between my daughter and wife and runs across the floor at full speed. So at this point I want nothing. To do with my food and just want my bill. We let the waiter know, who didn’t seem surprised, no apology, not suggestion of a discount or any comment like it’s an everyday occurrence or something in my humble opinion and just hands me the check. I pay and ask for a receipt. What else could possible go wrong right? I sit there like an idiot for a decent amount of time waiting while he walks around doing a bunch of unrelated stuff until I finally ask for my check again. “Didn’t I already give it to you?” Seriously… suffice to say… won’t be going there again… about $200for this birthday lunch…. Find a better place folks…

You can tell they use frozen vegetables. The meat gets less and less every time we go. This will probably be the last time we come to this one because our waitress tonight just seemed really spaced out and worthless we constantly had to ask for drinks refilled and the chef was terrible. Super salty food that's all you taste and the freezer in the veggies definitely resist going here if you can everything is mediocre especially the sushi rolls. Way overpriced for frozen in the box food all they do is warm up everything except the meat which the portion are ridiculous for the price! Do not go here!

We went to Ichiban in Cumming on Sunday 7/6/25 with 8 people for a birthday celebration. CARMELLO was our chef and he was absolutely wonderful! He was engaging, funny, skilled and professional. He cooked our steaks to perfection and served our meal in a fun, organized manner. He made our experience a great one and we will definitely be back for our next celebration!

We’ve been frequent takeout customers, but unfortunately, this experience may be our last. We ordered six sushi rolls, including the Hollywood roll, which had roe on top that smelled sour and tasted off.

When we called the restaurant, the initial response was vague—they said they’d inform the sushi chef. To their credit, they did call back later and offered a refund for the roll.

However, after consuming some of it, I’m genuinely concerned about potential health risks. It’s disappointing that a restaurant serving raw fish would not ensure the freshness of their ingredients. Serving spoiled seafood is not only unacceptable, it’s dangerous.

Food is overpriced in my opinion and meat portions are getting smaller.
$3 extra for fried rice and $4 for an iced tea is a big NO for me.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Ichiban! The food was delicious (as always), but what really stood out was the service. Our server, Lisa, was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the meal. She made sure we were comfortable, well taken care of, and had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. It’s rare to find such warm and thoughtful service these days. Thanks Lisa!

Food here is pretty good compared to most hibachi places, but service is hit or miss and their substitution policy is crazy (I half understand not allowing substitutions on Hibachi (even though almost all of your competitors do), but why force me to get it on my plate? Let me say leave it in the back to reduce food waste). An average restaurant experience with it's high and lows that I wouldn't usually bother reviewing. That is until my last visit...

I have been here many times and have gone to many other hibachi places. My last visit here, however, was hands down one of the best meals I have ever had at one of these restaurants. Our chef, Fidel, is a talented cook and an entertaining performer! I don't always do hibachi, but when I do from here on out it will only be when Fidel is working.

The servers are always very attentive and nice, The food is also great :) I got the hibachi filet steak and scallops- they also gave me free shrimp, I don’t know if it was on purpose or not but I liked it.
