ate here today, round 10:30 am based on reviews I read that were very positive. Well!!! here we go!!! I never understand why buffet set ups NEVER label what the food is and leave you to guess, I just don't get it. Labeling what crap is takes NOOOO TIME at all, lame to not do it. The fried chicken was OUTSTANDING, COOKED TO PERFECTION. I also had some stewed yellow squash, it had NO herbs or seasoning & was mushy, maybe slightly over cooked I guess. I also took a fried chic gizzard to taste it and I was unable to eat it, it was not cooked properly, was like shoe leather and I was totally unable to chew it up, ended up spitting it out. Biscuit was ok and the yeast roll was much better. Meatballs I had were just ok, no notable awesome flavor, just ok. The meatball was tender though. Don't think i'll be returning unless I have a heck of a craving for some good chicken, it was quite lovely, but........... nothing else was. I think I will give them a try for breakfast and I will be back to review the place for that. BUFFET JOINTS!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR GOD'S SAKE LABEL YOUR BUFFET, IT WON'T FREAKIN HURT YOU. WHAT A LOVELY TOUCH IT WOULD BE, COME ON MAN.

This was my first visit; and I let the staff know. The food was pretty good, but I am not inclined to return.
Paul’s cashier expresses a condescending disposition of being bothered by simple questions. When I asked questions: She responded rudely, as if answers should have been known info to a first time patron.
The food is self-serve. Not the best set up, as it wasn’t properly covered or heat- regulated.
Although she was rude, I treated the cashier with courtesy, as I would anyone handling my food. When the cashier looked into my box, which I had no issue with as it was self service buffet; she didn’t clean her hands. She opened boxes after just handling cash, and disregarded the need for hand-washing, sanitizing, or gloves before handling my food. I was inclined to just leave the food beer after she looked in the box, but I was hungry; and there are not a lot of choices for vegetables in Dawson, fortunately for Paul’s.
The barbecue pork was not heat-maintained (for safe temperature) and it was not under a sneeze guard; it’s just exposed. Some of the vegetables were lukewarm.
The atmosphere does not get a good rating from me mostly bc the cashier was in it. Also, most patrons took the food out.
I would be written as if I did not say There was another lady, who was adding food to the bar, and asked me if I needed some help and if I needed her to prepare my meal. I did appreciate her.

What a little gem to stumble upon! Tasted like my Granny's on a Sunday after Church! If you allow yourself time to slow down and take the scenic route, you'll find the friendliest people and some of the best fried chicken you've ever had ! Yum!

Saw a billboard on our way from Albany Georgia. On our way back to Tuscaloosa AL. What an unbelievable experience the food was phenomenal. The employees were so nice and accommodating. If I’m even remotely close to this restaurant, I promise you, I will stop by again.
A super friendly staff. The food was delicious, real home cooking.
The peanut butter cheesecake was amazing.

Very cute little family restaurant. Southern cooking breakfast and lunch. Always good food and friendly staff.
Parking: Not much parking around lunch time. Only a few spaces on the street. More parking around the back but a longer walk. Or use drive-thru option.
