So let me say that I’m super picky when it comes to seafood, especially crab. I moved to the area in October and have seen this spot countless times but just haven’t ever been in there. Today after getting gas I figured why not. The 25 dollar two leg cluster meal was calling my name. I go in to order and Daxx tells me that the steamer is down due to water issues from the city, but he can fry it for me instead, and he’d toss in some extra shrimp. I was skeptical but said go for it and LORD HAVE MERCY! The crab was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was incredible. The meal was supposed to come with 5 shrimp but I easily counted 15, so his idea of a few extra is realistically three extra servings. The broccoli, potatoes, and sausage all had great flavor and the garlic butter sauce I could drink my weight in. Fantastic spot and Daxx is a real MVP because I walked in a total stranger but felt like I was an old friend. I hope Daxx is really because he will be seeing way more of me, especially after I noticed fried lobster and gator on the menu.

I had wings and onion rings. All very good although he did not include my ranch after I asked if was inside. Didn't need it cause wings were flavorful. They have great deals, very good service. I'll come again.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Daxx’s Crab Trapp, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The vibrant, urban-style decor immediately catches your eye, graffiti-inspired murals, clever wall signage, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe that feels authentic and fun. From the “Welcome to the Dugout” sign to the cheeky “25¢ charge for whining” plaque, the ambiance alone makes this spot worth checking out.

But let’s talk about the food, because that’s where Daxx’s really shines.

We had the chance to meet the owner, Daxx, a very friendly and down-to-earth gentleman who personally ensured our order was fresh, hot, and made exactly how we wanted it. His hospitality and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction made the visit even more memorable.

We ordered several items, and each one was absolutely superb, no exaggeration!

Lemon Pepper Wings & Fries: These wings were the perfect blend of tangy and savory, with a zesty lemon kick that didn’t overpower the peppery seasoning. What made them exceptional was the extra crunch we requested, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served hot with golden fries that hit the spot.

Philly Cheesesteak with Fried Okra: This was a flavor bomb! The cheesesteak was tender and well-seasoned, with juicy beef and an extra generous helping of melted cheese, exactly how a Philly should be. The fried okra was crispy, fresh, and a great southern touch that elevated the meal.

Chicken Tenders: These were perfectly cooked, crispy breading with juicy, flavorful chicken inside. Simple, but done exceptionally well, which speaks volumes.

We were also impressed by their wide-ranging menu. In addition to traditional items, they offer exotic seafood options like salmon burgers, steamed crab legs, lobster tails, and jumbo shrimp, all at very reasonable prices. They even have fun and unique items like seafood nuggets (including alligator, lobster, and catfish nuggets), along with flavorful drink options like dragonfruit lemonade and raspberry lemon tea.

What stood out the most is how community-conscious the owner is. He offers daily specials and a $3-$5 value menu that makes quality food accessible, even in today’s inflated economy. It's clear he’s not just running a business; he’s serving the community.

From the food to the people to the pricing, Daxx’s Crab Trapp delivers on all fronts. Whether you’re in the mood for wings, seafood, or a down-home Philly, this spot is worth every visit.

Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back!

they didn’t sauce my wigs all the way . They just poured it on there so you could still see the fried chicken . It just looked a mess but you get what you paid for and I only paid $8…. That was for a 10pc . Food was a 5/10

this joint was gross! & when I place a take out order over the phone dude is rude & a fast talker! They don’t tell you their wing flavors, they rush you off the phone. you would think this food is just top notch . So I go in there to pick up my food & there is 0 ppl in the restaurant. dude is still rude in person lol just bad energy. he didn’t even remember my order correctly when I placed over the phone. So I wait an additional 10 min for my food. So the onion rings were hideous, literally burnt to crap & the wings were very bready . The sauce is toooo greasy. Literally made my head hurt, WORST place I’ve been too in a LONG time! Food is horrible. Customer service horrible!

Great customer service nice vibe in spot.. Food was decent would probably try them again just wouldn’t try the flavor I got today…. 1 thing that irked me was them not having the to go boxes that separate the food from each other I got wings with sauce today & okra I don’t like my food to touch unless I put them together. So that alone threw me off so I couldn’t finish my food… But like I said food was decent & customer service great! Oh & damn good prices in this economy we NEED a place with their prices.

Parking: Scary dirty place. Rude. Why do all the employees park in the fire lane in front of this place and blast music from their cars?

Stay away.

Walking in you meet the owner. Very hospitable and determined to give you a 5 star customer service experience. I almost spoke to him like the Uncle from back home. The atmosphere is family style friendly. Stop in to grab a Turkey Burger, Jerk Chicken Philly, or just a Strawberry Trap Lemonade. Hands down this CHEF approves.
