Drove all the way here from Midtown to get some good Jamaican food. Saw that there were very good reviews on this place so I decided to try it upon my arrival, however, the name of the restaurant was totally different than what Google had it was called “Mamas Yawd” not “ Island Taste Caribbean restaurant”. I had called twice to make sure that they had what I wanted, but they didn’t answer, so I figured because it was still early and that they were probably just busy. They were definitely closed when I got there. ??♀️ Always follow your first thought. It would’ve saved me a trip.

It was ok. It wasn't nasty. I felt everything could of had more flavor. The strawberry cake had no strawberry flavor. The cabbage could of had more seasoning.

The customer service is A1!!!The j*** chicken was delicious! The curry tasted like baked chicken with a hint of curry seasoning. It didn't really have that Jamaican curry taste. I'm going to give it one more try though, everyone has an off day.

Ordered a veggie patty and oxtails plate from here via Postmates. I specifically wrote on the order for “extra oxtail sauce/gravy! Pour all over rice & peas and oxtails.” Well, someone did not read and comprehend. These are the absolute driest oxtails I have ever had in my life! Absolutely no sauce/gravy at all. Nothing but meat, a heap of rice with some big beans sprinkled on top. All dry and spiced. The oxtails are tough to chew. Plaintains are blah, cabbage is mediocre. At least the veggie patty was enjoyable! Won’t be eating from here ever again.
First time there and I wont be back.. feel like I wasted my money j*** chicken was not good an it was $12 over priced for how it tasted.

I like this place! They offer excellent food, their menu is varied, The cook in that restaurant is very trained, I love very much trying all their food. The dishes are consistently fresh and tasty, the attitude towards the clients is agreeable. I often go to this place and I was never unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.
