I love Kafenio Avondale so much!! We moved away recently and had the joyous opportunity to come back here for lunch today and the food is so much better than any of our local greek places (which are by no means bad) that I nearly sobbed into my salad. Like, it's a salad, how is it so much better than other Greek salads?
The real star is for sure the potatoes, especially the pile of potatoes. Highly recommend, 10/10

My best friend and I have lived in the area for years and were excited to find Kafenio, especially for gyros. Our first visit was great, excellent food and 10/10 customer service, so we planned to return regularly.
Unfortunately, today’s experience was disappointing. I asked the cashier (a young woman with black hair and hot pink highlights) a few questions about the menu, which she answered politely, just like last time. However, while waiting for my order, I overheard her loudly mocking me to a coworker (another young woman with short jet black hair), saying things like “I know the menu better than anyone,” and “What does the menu say?”, “How are you going to try to tell me what the menu says?”, and other remarks clearly aimed at me. I was less than 10 feet away.
As someone who works in food service, I understand customer questions can be repetitive, but I wasn’t being rude or difficult. I simply didn’t know/understand all the options and asked for clarification. Her comments felt uncalled for and made me uncomfortable. At least have the decency to wait until I’m no longer there if you’re going to complain about any customers at all.
Kafenio is a great spot with good food and a nice vibe, and I was looking forward to attending their networking events offered on Eventbrite, but after today, I’m reconsidering. I hope management addresses this, so no other customer is made to feel this way.

A nice peaceful spot to grab some Greek food! It's very clean and bright inside and the staff are nice. I enjoyed my gyro and sampler platter, followed by a cannoli. Parking was not difficult to find in the deck behind the building.

My first time actually getting food from here to go. Nice restaurant and ambience. They have dessert that will make your mouth water. The gyro is huge and delicious. I got a gyro with fries for dinner and a gyro platter with the salad for lunch at work the following day.
We got takeout, for Mediterranean establishment the menu was average at best. Service was very friendly and fast with the order. I was just expecting more variety for the area. I do like the plaza this place is located offer free and convenient parking.

Update: Visited recently and did I missed this so much! I relocated to the other side of town so it’s a bit difficult to visit as frequently as I did in the past. As always, everything was amazing and very delicious. The staff continues to be friendly and kind. You can visit with family and friends. The coffee is GREAT!

Went here for the first time today. Service was great the people were really nice. Open and bright atmosphere. I sat in the back next to the windows to people watch. My greek potatoes were Amazing! I also got the chicken ceasar wrap also good. Will definitely be back.
