My wife has generally really liked this place so I keep trying to go with her and my last three experiences have all been terrible.
Sometime last year we went and I got a steak. At cutting into it and biting what was supposed to be medium was raw. Like raw raw. I ate two bites. They asked if everything was ok. Being someone who isn’t generally comfortable complaining about quality or service I said yes. They could tell it was bad. They comped the steak and didn’t pay for it. So an attempt to make it right. So I attempt to go back.
Earlier this year we went and it was just an overall slow and poor experience. 15 minutes for my wife’s cocktail. Then 20 minutes for our caviar. Just overall unacceptable slow service for the cost. And I’m willing to accept things can be slow or backed up. But provide an update.
Then tonight. Show up. Go to the bar. They took my wife’s drink pretty quickly and I got a Diet Coke. No exaggeration 25 minutes passed and not one staff spoke to us. I didn’t get a drink refill. We never got asked about food. Once finally approached again we said check please and left. It was the first time my wife actually lost patience with the wait and experience.

My husband and I had a reservation in a quieter corner inside Kimball House. Delicious zero proof cocktails (Strawberry Cream Soda & Tokyo Zero). Hawaiian Roll, Fettuccine, and Trout with blue grits are also to be recommended. Look forward to returning.

This is such a beautiful restaurant. We made a reservation last minute and arrived about 5 on a Sunday only to realize we had made the reservation fkr the floor Wednesday. The host was very kind and fixed our reservation and seated us immediately. Parking was slim to none but we found something on the side street. Their cocktails were great. We loved the old fashioned. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavor. The trout over blue corn grits was out of the ordinary and delicious. Don't forget to order the rolls. We will be back.

Being able to eat the same oysters that I get in my Massachusetts hometown is such a treat. The craft cocktails and staff are always on top of their game. I'm so glad this place is in my neighborhood.

We celebrated my adult daughter's birthday out on the patio as a party of 6, and had a wonderful time. Our waiter was outstanding and steered us toward two absolutely delicious wines, unbelievably good/fresh oysters and a fun taste of caviar. We all loved the grilled oysters and the Hawaiian rolls. We were allowed to take our time through the appetizers, which was good because they were a bit stronger than the entrees. I split the trout with my daughter and it was good, not great. One of our party had the chicken and didn't love it. The desserts were capable but not outstanding. Still, the appetizer courses were so much fun and the wine was so good that I recommend Kimball House for celebrations.
Beautiful ambiance and great service. Ryan was very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was high quality and tasty, and the drinks were 10/10.

Staff was super friendly and helpful with food and drink choices. We sat at the bar and there was no lack in service provided. We orders the Fancy oyster, snapper crudo garden gimlet and the new tokyo(tequila) everything was a 10/10.
