Dinner on a Tuesday night at the Kimball house was wonderful. Loved the decor inside and overall ambience. My party enjoyed everything we ordered especially the entrees, they were all excellent and difficult to pick a favorite between the tenderloin, duck and snapper. The grilled oysters were a little different than the typical Parmesan garlic but they were amazing as well. I think the weakest dish for me was the fried shrimp. The pieces were small and seemed like a lot of breading. We didn't order dessert here and elected to walk over to butter & cream for dessert. Would definitely come back for dinner again!

Our first experience was spectacular. Our second experience, incredibly disappointing. Our first visit we had one delightful waiter who introduced us to the restaurant and menu and was incredibly attentive. Food and drinks were terrific. After raving about our experience, we brought two friends to have dinner with us there. We had three waiters who never introduced themselves and our entrees took almost an hour and a half to be brought to us. The worst part was that the entrees were cold.I reached out via email over a week ago and never heard back. I'm not sure which version of Kimball House you may get, but my initial impression has been washed away.

This is such a chic spot with many seafood options set in a remodeled older house in Decatur. Very upscale, gourmet options and the price tag that fits it. They have lots of oyster options (raw, grilled, etc), beef tartare which was raved about but we didn't get, snapper tartare (essentially snapper sushi with yummy citrus? Sauce and micro green/kumquat citrus topping), amongst other yummy starters. The cocktails are delish! My partner got the whiskey smash which springy didn't taste like whiskey but instead more of a guava-tasting tropical drink (yummy)! We got the grilled oysters and snapper tartare for apps and enjoyed both of them. Next time, I'd want to try the beef tartare but the grilled oysters were excellent. I got the Mezzaluna (mushroom half moon ravioli) -- surrounded with many, different maroons and a wine-tasting mushroom sauce. Definitely get only if you love mushrooms, because there are many! It was yummy but id probably choose the Snapper entree item in the future. The snapper entree was perfectly cooked and tender, very well seasoned with melt in your mouth creamy risotto -- excellent. Parking is on the street, a very small lot (full), or a parking garage which you must pay ahead for. It was an elevated dining experience that I will come back for a fancy/celebratory dinner option!

Jacob was the bartender who served me, and my cocktail was amazing. I’m quite the craft cocktail snob especially being from Chicago and I was very impressed with Kimball House. I also asked the bartender Jacob if they could make me a drink that wasn’t listed on the menu and they came up with a drink that fit the sort of cocktail experience I was looking for and I was mind blown of how quickly he was able to think of a drink for me to have. Will come back if I ever return back to Atlanta. Thank you!

This place was fantastic. We tried 7 appetizers. I only disliked one but that’s because I’m not a big fan of oysters in general but the rest of the food was on point. We ate 3 entrees. The duck was a little gamey and chewy. The ribeye probably would’ve tasted awesome had it not been cold but the veggies paired with the meal was delicious. The trout paired with the risotto was amazing. We tried all 3 desserts and the creme brulee was the best. Had a fantastic time. Highly recommend!!

My partner and I went to Kimball House to celebrate our two-year anniversary. Cooper took care of us and we had the loveliest time, so we returned for our three-year anniversary this year! We hit some atl traffic and the hostess (Madison I believe) was incredibly kind and accommodated our delayed arrival. Chris took care of us and we had a wonderful experience. We love ordering a bunch of small plates rather than a couple entrees, and Chris expertly coursed out our meal to complement our drink choices. Every single one of his recommendations were divine. The highlights of our meal were definitely the Enzoni Bianco, the caviar with middlins, and the blackberry eclair. Thank you so much for making our anniversary extra special! - Tay & Sarah

Didn't meet $$$ expectations.Friendly place, lots of buzz.Courteous bussing crew, inattentive servers. We heard: "Your food will be right out!" a couple times.Oysters were good, steaks were disappointing. Three of four arrived cold, possibly because one was ordered "well-done."The manager replied without expression to my disappointment with: "Thank you for telling me."I didn't hear regret or apology, so perhaps our experience was a common one. That interaction prompted this, my first post.

Expectations not met! It’s a decent establishment if the prices were 30-40% cheaper, however, for the amount of money they are charging ($80 per NYC strip) I expect a bit more refined food, service, ambiance, and overall quality! That unfortunately did not happy! It left us with over $300 check for a party of 2 for some oysters, app, and entrees and there was not a single dish, or experience that I would remotely remember… If I’m going to drop $80+ for a steak only I expect to have a great vodka dirty martini. I ordered grey Goose and quickly learned that they only have 1 kind of vodka that I’ve never heard of- fine whatever! What killed the experience is that the dirty martini was served in a cordial glass (what?!?) and it tasted awful- it was overall dirty and I could tell the olive juice was old:( it was straight up disgusting! The bar absolutely lost my respect :( I was hoping the food would turn thing around and again it did not! It was not as disappointing as the bar but it was just okey! I would come back for the oysters and maybe some apps but would stay away from the non-menu cocktails and entrees. Not a place I would recommend.

Love this place. The environment is like no other which is why I return. It's a whole vibe. The food is good, a bit pricey but solid. The service is a bit lacking the times I have been there and the bar leads much to be desired but it's decent, but it's certainly a place to visit at least once.

Even though this restaurant is known for its oysters, the steaks were great and well prepared. Excellent au gratin but I wished there were more than one onion ring on the steak plate. The grilled oysters were delish with a dash of jalapeño. And while the scallops were cooked very well, they could have used a little bit of salt and pepper! However, the risotto it came with was divine. I was licking my plate! But do know that this place is loud and does not have parking. Not even a valet.
