Erik and the rest of the staff made our anniversary outing extremely special. What started out as a quick stop for créme brûlée turned into small plates, oysters, cocktails and an all around delicious evening. We can't wait to return for the full dining experience.

1st visit , but now it's on the rotation. Seared scallop & pork belly appetizer was great. NY strip with chimichurri, broccolini and mashed potatoes was excellent. To top things off, bourbon infused old fashioned creme brulee! Service was about perfect. Attentive but not invasive

My partner and I found this restaurant after doing some apartment hunting in the area. We came in at 3:30 PM (lunch ends at 3 PM) for dinner. The restaurant was empty, but we loved taking in all of the art. It’s a very ambient atmosphere. We were served by Stephen (or is it Steven?). He was super nice, great vibes. My partner had the gaucho filet with fries. He loved the char on the steak and our waiter did us a solid by highly recommending the fries. He gave it an 8/10 because the steak itself was on the smaller side and he thinks they forgot to give us the onions with the chimichurri (which cost $3 extra). We didn’t notice until it was too late or I am sure they would have fixed it. The seasoning on the scallops was superb. The corn puree complimented it so well. I am not a big fan of pork belly, but it was so soft and delicious that I loved it. To top it all off, my partner forgot his glasses on the table and our server was kind enough to run them out to us! Perfect place for date night!

Great anniversary date night. I was recommended the hangar steak “gaucho style,” with mashed potatoes, loved it. Cocktails were creative and outstanding; sides such as grilled octopus, were incredible. Highly recommend!

Kindred has an impressive menu. Everyone is always welcoming, and we enjoy the cozy, artsy ambiance. Same owner as Oak Grove Market, which means that the ingredients are sublime.

Our favorites on the menu:
- Grilled oysters (on Fridays; the lemon vinaigrette is refreshing)
- Kindred salad (really stands out; the pickled veggies in the salad are SO good)
- Trumpet mushrooms
- Three Pigs Burger (one of our top favorite burgers)

Our scallops and octopus tasted overcooked-- slightly burnt and they were tough/rubbery. We will give the seafood another try next time.

3.13 - Update: I appreciate Kindred reaching out to address my previous review. They apologized for their off night and invited me back. Stephen, the GM, shared they were updating the menu and that the number of servers working is based on their reservations, which makes complete sense. Given today's climate, this staffing model is entirely understandable. I haven't had the chance yet to go back, but I plan to soon. I'm a regular at Oak Grove Market (also owned by Rick with a couple of partners), and seeing him today reminded me of their commitment to quality. I'm impressed by their effort to make it right, truly going above & beyond. Definitely give them a try! I'll update my food star rating when I get back, but don't wait for my review.

2-27-Really disappointed in Kindred. The ambiance is about the only thing it had going. The dinner menu was limited to pork, expensive steak options one fish dish and the alternative, vegetarian plate that was too salty. The mushroom hors d'oeuvre did not taste like fresh mushrooms & it felt like our server ignored us throughout.

Had a great night at Kindred! The food was great, especially the pimento cheese board. Steak and grouper was awesome too. Drinks were really good, lovely and lots of herbs. I asked for mine with no alcohol; it was delicious and I appreciated the flexibility. Service was really friendly and knowledgeable.

I love local neighborhood restaurants in general, but add in wonderful people, creative eats, and an inspired wine list, and I'm captivated.

We finally made our way to Kindred and can’t believe it took us so long. The food is so fresh and incredible. The mushroom risotto melted in your mouth (and I know everyone says that about their risotto, but seriously). The flavor of everything was so good! We look forward to returning.

Idk why I’ve slept on this place but it’s been fantastic all three times we’ve been there over the years, especially this past Friday. The staff are incredibly welcoming right off the bat and that quality persists throughout the meal. Shoutout to Salem who’s served us twice now.

The pimiento cheese and pickled veggie plate comes with a big, tasty portion. The grouper bites are perfectly breaded and tender.

We’ve tried a lot of the apps but the vampire tacos might steal the show, and that’s not something I’d expect to say about meatless tacos.

Last thing I’ll mention is the burger…it’s huge, the meat is quality (as are all of their cuts) , the pork belly is so good on it, and the bun is perfect.

Truly a hidden neighborhood gem and somewhere I’m excited to return to soon.
