I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received from an employee named Pam during my recent visit to your store on 2/25/2025 at Memorial Dr Decatur Location. While I rarely feel the need to submit complaints, the way I was treated during my return was unacceptable and deeply frustrating.
I came in with a valid receipt to return an item, fully aware of Kroger’s official return policy, which states:
"Effective July 13, 2020, all Kroger Co. Family of Stores can accept returns of items purchased at any Kroger Company family of stores location within a 30-day window of purchase."
However, Pam immediately stated that there was a "two-week return policy," which is simply untrue. When I attempted to show her the official policy, she refused to acknowledge it and quickly called a manager. Fortunately, the manager was professional and agreed that my return was valid, instructing her to proceed.
Despite this, Pam continued to resist, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. She even attempted to whisper to the manager in what seemed like an effort to prevent the return. When she finally asked if I had the original Mastercard I used for the purchase, I informed her that I did not. She then stated, "Well, I can't return it," despite the Kroger policy clearly stating:
"Returns without a receipt over $10.00 will receive a Kroger Co. Family of Stores Merchandise Gift Card. The return slip must be signed by all customers with returns over $10.00."
I felt as though she was doing everything in her power to deny my return rather than follow Kroger’s policies. Her demeanor was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, including rolling her neck and giving me unnecessary attitude simply because I was informed about the policy.
I want to clarify that I am not requesting Pam’s termination, as I do not wish for her to lose her job. I know it's hard out here. However, I strongly believe she is not suited for a customer service position. A role that does not involve direct customer interaction, such as bagging, may be more appropriate for her.
Returning an item can already be a stressful experience, and having an employee like Pam made it unnecessarily frustrating. I trust that Kroger values its customers and will take appropriate action to ensure that future interactions remain professional and respectful.
This is the Worst Store in the area. You can never come in here and get decent service. The deli is always closed. But when it is open you can never get a sub sandwich. The people have RUDE ATTITUDES. Only at this Krogers. You have to drive on the OTHER side of town to get good service. Now I know why Walmart is still in business. My last time coming here.
Sorry and unprofessional staff in the deli. My husband stood in line for ten minutes waiting on the staff to acknowledge him while making another order only to be told by another employee that they’re busy working on platters for another customer so they wouldn’t be able to assist him.
Great place to shop and you always get discounts on selective items with your Kroger Plus card. And every dollar you spend you get points off your gas. Wow who can beat that, No one only Kroger does that. Great store, great five dollar deals. You better get down there for the savings.
I award Jamerson five stars for his exceptional customer service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ He demonstrated exemplary professionalism by greeting customers warmly and offering assistance in locating items. I went shopping here two days ago and saw a fight between four people with a little girl involved and three grown women. And a girl running down the aisle. And they had no carts as always😒 after that day no longer shopping there and that lady with the red vest is always loud for no reason
This place is dirty also this stinks rlly bad anddd they have old products, they keep having the same squrl it go into my buggy they treat there workers bad
My husband and I often shop at this location. One day we received excellent customer service from Jamerson and Janiecia( I’m not sure how to spell the young lady’s name) They both worked in the self checkout area. They were very helpful and cordial. Thank you for providing great service! We appreciate you all!
I no longer shop at Krogers ... In all African American community they put pork in everything in their deli foods. In Caucasian neighborhoods they do not put pork in the same exact foods. I now shop at Publix they treat all their guests the same no matter what area or race you are. This is just only one complaint there are much more. They have aggressive security at the door that's worse than Walmart security. If you try to leave the store door with the basket It slam locked and a security say you have to stay still for him to check you. Then security unlocks your buggy and you can take your things to the car.

Im from out of town so I can't speak on the consistency of the product but Jamerson or Jameson sorry if I got it wrong brother, his customer service and patience is phenomenal and deserves recognition please keep doing your best brother some people may over look it but I appreciate and it matters God bless you my friend.
Everytime I go here someone trying to sale me something right by the door. Today someone tried to sale me a box of candy canes. It’s so uncomfortable going to grab groceries and someone hassling you candy canes. What happened to loitering? What happen to security asking them to move?
Worst store I’ve ever encountered. Customer Service is almost NEVER open on time. I need a money order for rent, and I’m here now and they are closed and don’t know what time they are opening. Someone was in the money office, poked their head out and yet didn’t even acknowledge me standing there…Food is always expired and the workers are never helpful. Everyone needs to be fired and hire people who actually wants to work and come in on time. I literally stay across the street from here, but I’ll be traveling to North Decatur Kroger from now on.
The food is always expired, no exceptions . Shop elsewhere because this location is neglected.

I wish my community didn’t have to check the dates on their food and what a hassle to return it during the hrs cx service is open. 🫥🫥🫥. I’ve purchased expired food and asked for a refund in the moment and was told I had to rerun when the returns department is open. Total bs
