I used to buy bread here before the bakery closed. So, I was excited to try the pizza. Unfortunately, the sauce was salty and the crust was burnt and tough. I couldn’t eat it.
I take deliveries from here. Really nice people
It was ok. For >$30 I would have expected the pizza to be a bit better. I think a fair price for this pizza would have been half the price.
The sourdough bites (Sopapillas) are *chefs kiss*. They’re not too sweet and can be eaten by themselves without the lemon crème. If you’re like me, the lemon crème grows on you and you end up eating half of the bites on their own and the other half with the crème. Like the bites, the crème isn’t too sweet but rather has a subtle tart flavor i appreciate.
I’ve tried 2 pizzas and a grandma slice and would give the nod to their grandma pizza. It came out more flavorful to me and the “puffiness” of the bread is a nice change up from traditional pizzas. For those with dietary restrictions the grandma pizza is also sourdough.
Amazing crust, toppings, sauce, and everything else. I have enjoyed both the slices and the whole pies.
I can’t believe I haven’t already left a 5 star review. We’ve been getting pizza from La Calavera since they switched from a bakery to a pizzeria, but you can tell how much love and skill goes into the crust because it is the best in town bar none. Every pizza we’ve ever ordered is exceptional. Easily one of if not the top tier pizza place in Atlanta.
Be aware wait times can get long so order early and order often.
Some of the best pizza in Atlanta! Always amazed by the quality.
Seconding and thirding and infinity-ing all the praise about this being the best pizza in ATL, and esp. the shoutouts for the most perfect crust. What I would like to add to the heap of praise is my gratitude for the kindness shown when I came in twice with special requests to accommodate a family member with severe food restrictions. That’s true hospitality and one of the many reasons you should support this family owned business 🫶🏻

Delicious.
Their sourdough pizza was amazing and I can’t have regular bread. It bothers my stomach. This was just like good bread. Well worth it. I think most who are gluten free can eat this sourdough crust.

This is one of our regular go to take out spots. The pizza is always great, the staff is friendly and our order is always ready when they say it will be. Definitely one of the best pizzas in east Atlanta.

Crust options for every dietary need! It's a sourdough base, so I can eat it even though I usually have problems with bread. They also have gluten free.

We love La Calavera. Delicious pizza and the sopapillas are incredible too if you're feeling particularly gluttonous. Parking is a hit or miss, but the side streets have never failed me when needed
