I love the flavor of their ponko chicken! It’s hard to describe but it has a nice crisp (not too much), and just the right amount of sweetness. The staff was all so super friendly and I would definitely visit this location more now.
Place wasn’t busy when I came in. The server was rude though when taking my order and the counter space was small and it’s hard not to get in other peoples way. The food was good though. The salad was heaping and flavorful and the chicken had a nice sweetness to it. The fries were crispy and in the inside was spacious. Would return.

The staff have come to know me and always greet me with smiles and salutations everyone I visit. I love going to Ponko's Decatur! I also love that they support live jazz at their establishment!

I’ve never written a review, but last night 06/01 at Ponko has made me. We walked in at 9:25. There were a couple people in the store but we wanted to double check about closing time before we ordered. They said they don’t close until 10:00. We ordered. But I do get it, I work in the service industry, so we sat outside so they could clean as everyone else left. Had they told us they were closing early or ANYTHING like that, we wouldn’t have ordered. The man at the POS made a few comments about trying to close, but each time I told him, we’re eating quick, just want some food before we head home, and he confirmed they don’t close until 10:00. Our food came out to the table at 9:35. The same guy that put in our order commented that they put the food in regular plates but he was gonna bring us some Togo stuff because “I’m trying to get out of here early.” At that point I just asked for our money back so they could close. It was ridiculous. We would’ve been gone well before 10. We were already sitting outside. Then to be told we needed to put our food in Togo containers because he wanted to leave early was too much. It was the worst customer service I have had in a long time. When we asked for a refund he just said “ok, cool” then gave our food to the guys in the kitchen after asking who wanted it. Gave us a refund and we left. Mind you, they didn’t lock the door, it was still before 9:40 on a Saturday night. Never apologized. Never offered an explanation. Just gave us our money back and we left.

Not worth the money. I paid $17.00 + $2.00 tip for a total of $19.00 for this. I called the restaurant to let them know that I was unhappy with what I received. I was told a manager would give me a call back and I never received any follow-up. This is definitely not worth the money.
Great experience. One of the best ever! The food is delicious! Go try for yourself and see how it actually is!

Demi with the front of house staff is THE BEST! Demi keeps this restaurant running so smoothly and goes above and beyond so customers enjoy their experience. The food is satisfying and the atmosphere is great as well, especially when there’s live entertainment.

It wasn't busy when wewent in, so I was able to order right away. The friendly cashier helped with my order and let me know what was good. It was my first time to this location as I was at the original stores opening. Same great food, perfect iced tea and a nice layout. Limited free parking is available around the back. It's a tight fight so be warned. I ordered two salad meals with spicy chicken. The walnut cilantro dressing and the buttermilk ranch were excellent. I opted for their peach iced tea. Ponko is the only place I ever order that beverage. No matter what flavor I have tried it never too sweet and always flavorful. We left satisfied.
Visiting for a wedding and this place came recommended, so good! Loved the kamikaze fries
