Based on multiple visits April and May 2021. As early as April 2021, they had full dining inside, but Yelp! or Google may be going off old info when they say “outdoor only.” This place is very diligent about Covid protocols, by the way. Summary: Great breakfast/brunch place, especially for mornings when you want to be outside. One of my two favorite ATL breakfast places when the weather is warm (Bread & Butterfly being the other). Food: Chicken/Biscuit sandwich is really good but way too large. Chorizo tacos are an appropriate size (satisfying but won’t weigh you down first thing in the morning). You can get gravy as a side—really good. Food leans on the healthier and more refined side. Vibe: Really nice residential vibe (a nice escape from metro ATL). Like Canton Street in Roswell, but not as busy. Similar to downtown to Decatur as well. Perfect on a sunny morning, but they also have table umbrellas if it’s too much for you. Also, Bess Walker Park—one of my favorite places in/around all of Atlanta—is a two-minute drive away. Service: Great; friendly.

Weary of the frosting on my cinnamon buns, the waitstaff seemed overly flamboyant, definitely not very sweet and overly salty will not return!!!

I am incredibly pleased every time I order from Rise N Shine ATL. The French toast sandwich is my favorite. The bread is soft and the chicken sausage is really the perfect touch for people who don’t eat pork. But then again, the salmon is eggs is also my favorite. They add a brown sugar glaze on top of it and it really gives it that Je n’ai ce quoi. I highly recommend when you’re in the mood for a tasty small bite.

we were in the area and were looking for a nice brunch place so decided to try Rising Son. The safety protocols they follow are temp taking, spaced tables and servers wearing masks. We ordered the flatbread with egg on the side, breakfast sammy, and the fried green tomato and fruit on the side. Overall, the food was good with decent flavors and taste; the portion size was also good. The eggs were cooked well and the flatbread was especially good. the fried green tomato had a good crust but needed some more spice/flavor. the mini hash browns were also good as well as the biscuit the good food was added with good customer service and a nice ambience. overall, a nice brunch place in avondale estates

OMG people, if you haven't ordered from this place then I don't know what you're doing. Food is awesome!!! The french toast, the salmon and grits, the chicken and waffles; it's all good.

They’re an at home take out pop up breakfast, the owners were very professional. I’ve eaten from them about 3 times last week. There’s nothing better than a home cooked breakfast served from the stove to the box. They delivered my food to me curbside. It’s a small starter business and black owned in a local neighborhood. I encourage everyone to support them, you won’t regret it! I had the salmon n’eggs. It was sooo good!!

To be an at home based, the food is so good. When you’re one of those “I don’t eat everybody’s cookin” folks like I am, they won’t steer you wrong. The owners are even more pleasant. I will be back.

Wow, this is sad! It looks like they closed for good. I will miss my Polish Omelet and other goodies. I never understood why they did not expand into a larger space. The capacity at the Emory location was miniscule. They probably lost tons of business by not having more space. Then after Covid hit, they never re-opened their dining room. I don't know if that was a business decision or otherwise. I would hope the folks who operated it give it another try at a more suitable location. They already have the great food and a following.

Our friend’s son owns Rising Son, and we‘ve wanted to eat there for a while (we don’t live near here). Finally made it today! It’s a casual, comfortable restaurant with a dash of retro to it. Tina Turner was coming through the sound system. The menu has creative combinations of ingredients. We started with Crispy Breakfast Dumplings: ground pork, ginger, cilantro, and soy maple syrup. Yum!! My husband had the C.B.C.B. - fried chicken, bacon, cheddar biscuit. It was HUGE and the chicken was delicious! I ordered the vegetable plate which was more than I could finish. Diagonal cut fried okra was fun, but the coup de grace was Hudson’s green bean casserole. No yucky cream of mushroom soup, but creamy cheese and delicate fried onions on top. If you’re in the area, it would be a great choice for breakfast or lunch. ❤️

Thought I'd leave a review as well. Disappointed to see this place is still in business. Owners are rude and racist. The food is subpar. I'm not sure why they have such a following but do yourself a favor and go to another establishment. You can even get a glimpse into how rude and ill behaved the owner is by reading the reviews and reading the responses from them. I've been to this place a few times and finally decided the food sucks, the wait sucks, the community table thing sucked and they sucked. They don't deserve my hard earned money and yours either.

We are always impressed with Rise-n-Dine's menu items; it's often a challenge: go with a favorite or try something new or pick a variation of a fave? One thing hasn't changed since we've begun brunching here--the service is exceptional! Thanks, too, for giving us space to work the weekend crossword puzzle.
