This restaurant on the outside was a beautiful place to have lunch. Nestled right near Decatur train station. Let's talk about this food...the square item is their version of fried Mac n cheese. Presentation was amazing, tasted like fried Kraft Mac n cheese. The special was the spaghetti and meatballs that were made of veal, beef and lamb. Tasted like Spaghetti'Os and the meatball was not pleasant. The other pasta was a salmon pasta with caramelized red onions. This was more pleasant than the previous 2 dishes, although it could have gone without the onions and maybe add some asparagus, broccoli or spinach. Just my suggestion. Now the best thing we ate was that salad! I would go back just for the salad. No warm bread and no good wine variety. The server seemed to have a bit of an attitude only to come to find out he was the manager.

The most authentic Italian pizza you can get in Decatur, if not the greater metro. Check your american expectations at the door. These people are as close as you'll get to pizzaioli. Neat little selection of Italian wines as well, and all at pretty decent prices. Cocktails are comically small, not worth the price. Service was also pretty bad for us.

But, for pizza this good, I'll brave a lot worse. Give this place a shot, you'll be happy you did.

We had the Filetto and the tiramisu. The pizza is easily one of the best you can find in town if you like more traditional pizza. The oven they have is capable of cooking the crust to perfection, and the ingredients are clearly good quality. The sparkling red wine I had was sweet, but good.
The atmosphere was good, we had a few fruit flies hanging around us, but that didn't bother me much.

First, I want to share that I loved the atmosphere and music and sat inside. I ordered their bolognese and was excited to try an authentic dish. When the dish arrived, I assumed it would need pepper and a pinch of salt. However, my perception was the homemade noodles were so salty. I felt like the dish would have been great but it was extremely salty. I dont feel like the saltiness was a part of the sauce or the meat. The waiter or owner was great. He asked if I wanted something else. I really wanted a different preparation of noodles, but that wasnt an option. Im not the person who ever complains about food or would send a dish back. The process did feel uncomfortable. Maybe this was an off day for the chef. The waiter thought it was the grated cheese that added the saltiness. I would return for wine and atmosphere.

I was there yesterday afternoon after travelling, and had a great bolognese. It tasted very authentic. The price is reasonable as well.
The atmosphere was nice and it was not too crowded! :)

Love this place. The pizza is just like the kind we had in Italy. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It definitely feels like a spot we’ll come back to again and again.
