The burger is good, patties are quite small though. I understand they’re smash patties but the double smash burger from NFA is certainly more filling to me. The regular fries and smiley fries aren’t bad, nothing special. The burger does taste good but I think NFA is still the king of smash burgers in Atlanta. The outdoor vibe is cute. I’d recommend trying this place.

We finally ventured to an exalted institution spoken of in hushed, enthusiastic tones by townsfolk. One might think, from the fervor surrounding it, that the establishment dispenses not beef patties but salvation itself.
The burger presented to us was a solid contender in the realm of fast food victuals, proudly standing above the usual suspects whose offerings resemble meat only in spirit. Yet it remains perplexing that people insist upon comparing it to gourmet creations served in restaurants.
Such comparisons are, I fear, a tad bit foolish and perhaps unfair to Smiley’s Burger Club. I found the burger a tad bit greasy, it glistened with such enthusiasm that I momentarily worried it might slide off the plate and attempt escape.
My partner and I, concluded that Smiley’s may be a touch overpraised. Not entirely undeserving of affection though. A decent burger, inflated by gossip and ultimately undone perhaps by its own legend.

what can i say smileys rocks. this place is fantabulous. high quality burger which is 10/10 my platonic ideal burger. i like that the menu was simple and that the staff was extraordinarily friendly. i liked the sunny patio, i liked the fry dipping sauce. the fries were a 4/5 for me but i have a very strict fry ranking scale so it is hard to get a 5/5 in my book. the poco loco collab burger was phenomenal which is what you would expect. it was sunny and beautiful out when we ate our burgers and we had a lovely conversation with a fellow patron about boots - that’s just the vibe here. this place ranks high on my ATL burger list. please come here if you are craving a burger like i was, you won’t regret it.

I was very pleasantly surprised with my visit to Smileys! I got a double smashburger with the seasoned fries. The atmosphere is energetic and laid back. You feel instantly at home when arriving. The burger itself has a great flavor with crispy patties! The fries also have a unique blend of herbs and have a crispy texture! It’s delicious and exactly the burger that I look forward to! I only wish that they had more options for customizing the burger or having a cheese sauce for the fries! It’s definitely still worth a visit though!

I heard about this place because they won Atlanta burger week in 2025. I decided to stop by on my way home, and I'm glad I did. I just started with the foundation, the single burger, and it was excellent. The burger was super flavorful, had crispy edges, and even though the toppings were simple, it was executed flawlessly. What a smashburger should be. I'll have to come back to try the fries or cheese curds. The service also was fast, but still friendly. They had a nice patio right outside of the order window for seating. But this is a nice quaint neighborhood gem.

As a foodie in Decatur, who doesn't love a great burger that's different, juicy and tasty!! The locals favorite burger spot.
Food: The burgers are just what the name says. SMASHED and delicious. Great seasoned all natural beef. Hot fresh and tasty. I had the smiley fries which are good but could be a little better. The fries are fluffy and the texture took a little getting use too. The Burgers are a must try, juicy, flavorful and will get you straight. Fresh ingredients can't say enough.
Service: Great service and won't steer you wrong. Awesome
Atmosphere: Definitely that trendy Bohemian, vibe that's so Decatur and reminds me of the downtown San Francisco Bay Area. Great outside seating area, locals biking with families and just a cool spot.
We had a group get together, and found it to be a great place.

This might be my new favorite burger spot in Atlanta. I got the double burger with onions and jalapeños and it was absolutely incredible. This is exactly what I expect out of a smash burger. I also got the smiley faces instead of fries and they were just as good! Outdoor seating area was awesome as was the general vibe of the whole place. Will definitely be coming back here!

Good burgers and fries! A little pricey! For burger, fries and a soda will run you $30.00 or more. Double if you are with someone. Good experience, but I can get a good burger for less elsewhere
