Nah. This might be the BEST Soul Food I had in ATL. The Mac and Cheese was what it was supposed to be! Amaze! And the Collards, I don’t know what they put in it but baby! When I tell you I always add hot sauce to my greens no matter what and almost went back in to ask for some… then I tasted it and it was so full of flavor (not spice) that I didn’t even need the hot or want to mess up what it was already givin’!
I only had three sides but I’m coming back to try a full on meal! Inshallah

So Halal is everything soul food is supposed to be comforting, flavorful, and made with love. From the moment I opened my box, I could tell the food was cooked with intention. The mac and cheese was perfectly creamy, the yams were sweet and buttery, and the collard greens tasted like somebody’s auntie was in the back making sure they came out right. The chicken was seasoned all the way through not just on the outside and they truly mean it when they say halal.
There’s heart in this food. You can taste it.
The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and it feels like a home cooked Sunday dinner without having to clean the kitchen afterwards. If you’re in Decatur and want real soul food done right, So Halal is the one.
I left So Halal feeling full, happy, and taken care of. The food reminded me of family gatherings comforting, slow-cooked, and deeply seasoned. It’s rare to find a place where every single dish on the plate is good, but they do it. You can tell they cook with intention and pride. I love that they bring halal options to soul food in a meaningful and respectful way. Beautiful experience. I’ll be back soon.

Let me start by saying I’m a foodie and a cook. It’s very hard to please my taste buds because they’re full grown 😂 The food was delicious and the presentation was amazing. We ordered stew chicken, peas and rice, cabbage, mac and cheese, yams, jerk chicken, fried chicken, curry chicken. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the portions were more than enough. My over all rating is 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend you run not walk to So Halal. I’m from N.J and I will be visiting again before I head back home. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. 🤗

Everything was good but the fish was old, spoiled, refried, barely any meat or all of the above. I called to get a partial refund. I was offered a new meal/fish but declined. I was told that I would get a refund and phone call once my ticket was found. I’m still waiting….

Absolutely love their spaghetti. So much so that I quit ordering Olive Gardens 👌🏾

I’ve ordered from here twice through DoorDash. My first order was solid — definitely a 4/5 experience. I got the oxtails with greens, yams, and cornbread, plus the peach cinnamon roll and a lemonade. The oxtails were phenomenal, the yams very good, and the greens were excellent — honestly a 10/10. My only complaints that time were that the oxtail portions felt a little inconsistent (small and big at the same time, hard to explain) and I did not care for the cornbread.
My second order felt more like a 3/5. I tried the fish with spaghetti and another side of greens. The fish was really good, but the spaghetti was just okay and had an odd smell after a couple days. The greens, which were perfect the first time, were only a 5–6/10 this time around. The peach cinnamon roll was still tasty, but I didn’t care much for the peaches in it.
Overall, I’d definitely go back — especially for the oxtails and the fish (just not paired with the spaghetti). I do wish the quality of the greens was more consistent, because the first time they were incredible.

This is ain’t food. This is Culinary art. The yam , the collard greens with the mac and cheese. I was so skeptical but it’s so good. Best authentic soul food. Worth every penny.

I was a little septic of trying due to being from New York which has the best soul food, also the price was a lil more than some, but when I tell you, it was worth every single penny. This food was sooooo good, so much attention to detail, seasoned to perfection!!!! I usually keep spots like this to myself, but I had to shout out this staff and owner for that amazing plate, on this random Wednesday.

This is the only takeout soul food restraint my family and I are going to from now on.
We ordered the Grandmas special with Fried chicken and yams, the 'Hood Rich' spaghetti platter with fish, and the philly cheesesteak. Dessert was the cinnabon peach cobbler and banana pudding. Simply put; everything was perfection. Definitely ordering soon. Might be the best banana pudding i've had in a while.

I usually do not like or trust food hubs, but I went to take a chance on So Halal. I am glad that I did! I got the Grandma’s Special wings platter. Everything was cooked to perfection. The wings were well seasoned, flavorful, crispy and dry. The collards green were very good and a little spicy. Candied Yams? Absolutely delicious! The Mac & Cheese was made the way soul food mac & cheese should be made! It was fresh, creamy and slightly browned on the edges. The cornbread was so good and moist! Everything was just right! This was some of the best soul food I’ve had in Metro Atlanta…definitely top 2! It’s a bit pricey but worth it. The bag was a little heavy when I got it. I highly recommend checking this place out. True rating 9.5 / 10

After seeing this ghost kitchen on social media, I had to try it out. I purchased the macfish, chicken bowl, and the hibiscus rose water. I am very pleased. I am a hibiscus drink snob and the rose water here was the best I have tasted in Atlanta. It was refreshing and flavorful without losing the hibiscus integrity. 10/10 Next, the macfish. This is a large sandwich and can be split between 2 or 3 people. The catfish was cooked amazing and the Mac and cheese was good. I would have liked more glaze on the fish, but that is where you get into trouble with calories. Haha. The bread was soft and just overall an 8/10. The sweet chili pepper chicken bowl was great. The sweet pineapple, the spicy peppers, and flavorful rice and chicken was a great combination. This dish was amazing, but I did not get any yum yum sauce drizzled which was disappointing. I also could have used more sauce but again, you gotta watch the sauces for those calories. 8/10.
I highly recommend checking this ghost kitchen out. I will be back to try some other options and also grab a rosewater.
