The Spot Sports Bar and Grill

So I decided to go out, which is something I rarely do and ended up at this place here called the spot. Customer service was awful. I stood at the bar for over 10 minutes. The bartenders looked at me like I was a ghost. Number two at the end of the night I look at my transactions and I was charged $103 for two beers so people be aware of what you’re being charged before you tap your card.

The absolute worst! $25 entry fee, no seating is a joke!!!!!!! I’ll take my loss but I’ll NEVER return! A spot for young people to walk around I’m assuming.

We decided to try this place yesterday. When we walked in, the female bartender looked at us, so I said, "Hello," with no response. A server came out but also said nothing. I then walked over to the bar and asked if we just sat anywhere, and the bartender said, "Yes, anywhere." After sitting for a few minutes with no acknowledgment of our presence, my friend said that she thought we should leave, and I agreed. I want to support us but not at the cost of receiving what is minimally expected.

2nd time visiting in 3 months. Food bad both times. Ordered shrimp and chicken nachos. Food poisoning at 3a.m. Customer got sick at table. Not sure if she drank too much or Food poisoning. Waitresses more focused on gossiping and hookah.

The food was cold when they brought it to me, then they took it back. Dropped it in some grease and brought it back to me. and then they would not replace my food. The waiters are slow, but they do have a good vibe.

Came in as a party of 4 around 7:30pm and was seated at a table. Our waitress pulled up a 4th chair from another table. At 8pm another waitress started disrespectfully saying she’ll need to take a chair from us if anyone comes in to sit at the table where the seat was taken from because they only allow 3 people to a table. We had already ordered food drinks and hookah and asked her to speak with our waitress because she gave us the chair and we didn’t know that. 30-40 minutes pass and we receive all but one food order and the chair champion came back again to single one person out saying their time is almost up and they would have to eat and stand. Maybe 30 more minutes pass and we get the last food order and comes by again saying someone needs to get up to give her a chair. We ask her to get management and she instead gets security and says we got smart and told her to get security. A “manager” approaches us to try and talk through the situation which only ended up being him saying we don’t have to leave but we do have to give up a chair their policy at 9:30pm is that there’s only 3 people to a table. It was 9:30pm when this interaction started so we asked why was she trying to get a chair from us earlier when we weren’t the only 4 person table and we were still eating, drinking, smoking hookah and why wouldn’t that have been handled on their end with the staff. We were told there is no other table seating for FOUR people but because it wasn’t communicated appropriately he would see what he can do. That man decided to give us a discount ($8 off our then $171 bill) and then said he would get us a seat at a table where we could eat together. Mind you everything we ordered was already on the table we were at and no one bothered any of the other 4 person tables near us for a chair through out this duration. We were going to eat and drink more but by this point we were already more than ready to leave because of the service and were waiting to get our card back from paying the bill, and that manager never came back with another table option for us to relocate to. So we paid, tipped our actual waitress who was great, and left. Never again for me.

$20 with cash to get in the bar and $30 if you pay with a card. They also use cash app to accept the entrance fees. 🙅🏾‍♀️🙅🏾‍♀️🙅🏾‍♀️ If it takes almost an hour to get a drink. How do you have the gall to charge a gratuity fee without advising your customers? Almost $60 for one drink that was not top shelf anything is crazy... This place is less than 10 minutes away from me and I will never, everrrrr.......... come back. 2 drinks, 1 shot, and entry fee, was well over $100. I don't recommend anything, go somewhere else.

Service: There were only 2 servers, and it was crowded at 4 pm. I give them 5 stars because they did acknowledge everyone who sat at a table or booth. They were hustling.

Atmosphere: I give it 2.5 stars. The place looks gloomy on the inside. My opinion ONLY is that the establishment needs a paint job. Bring in bright colors.

Drinks: They have a special for $5.00 drinks. I ordered the BMF house liquor, and it tastes like cough medicine. THIS IS MY FAULT for ordering. I ordered Tito's and cranberry. She made it right.

Food: I ordered French fries for a starter. I enjoyed the season on them, but it was overcooked. It was hard. The Caribbean burger was on point. I will order it again.

Tonight was one of the worst service experiences of my life. The staff here is costing the owner a fortune. They are way too comfortable walking past people at empty tables, with empty cups, empty plates, etc. I usually praise this business. I'm a regular. I have spent thousands here and introduced numerous ppl to the business. Tonight I was ignored for 20 min. It wasn't busy. The staff was over by the hookah station chatting, laughing AND AVOIDING EYE CONTACT WITH ANY CUSTOMERS AT ALL COSTS. I finally got a young lady's attention. She told me that wasn't her table. I asked who's table it was. She said "oh I don't know" and ran away. Moments later she was back in the corner w the rest of the staff but never mentioned "there's a guy over there at a dirty table waiting for service." I only wanted food to go. I was going to drink Don Julio while I waited. I almost always leave an additional 20% on top of the 18% included gratuity. I called the Chinese spot in the same shopping center. They answered on the first ring. I ate tonight for $30 vs the $125 I was prepared to spend here. This is not the first time but definitely the worst time. Also I noticed many other ppl have experienced similar treatment. This business has a problem with customer service which seems to be getting worse not better. Tonight was absolutely DISGUSTING!! 😡😡

This is my second time here. The first time, they overcharged my card. I reached out to management, and they promised to call me back, but that never happened. Now, a year later, I returned with cash.

I arrived at 6:35 PM and ordered a taco and a drink. It is now 7:16 PM, and I still have not received my food or drinks. When I asked one of the workers about the price of shrimp, she said she didn't know and then walked away.

I must note that my server was the only one who wasn’t just standing around and chatting with other staff. It was challenging to get her attention because she was busy handling a large party along with three other tables. They say three strikes and you're out; for me, it's two strikes when I’m spending my money.

It's now 7:24 PM, and I just received my order, and I want to point out that there aren’t many people here.

Good food HORRIBLE SERVICE
The employees are very unprofessional. Most of them were rude and had attitudes. They never got my to go orders ready every time I place it to go order they lost my order, and orders that was supposed to take 15 minutes takes 45 minutes. Very unorganized

The atmosphere was good. It was packed as hell and the DJ was rocking. But everything is so expensive. You better have cash with you because everything is +10-$15 if you don’t have cash and use your card.
They took forever to get out bottles out. Our ice was melted.
Hookah is $35 cash but $55 with card. You can only have the hookah for 2 hours and 4 ppl can use it. All orders have a 18% gratuity and the waitress we had had a snobby attitude.
To get in it’s $20 cash but $30 cash app. Blk establishments always trying to up charge their own people. This is sad and corny. Blk business will be in poverty stricken neighborhoods and force money out of you. This don’t happen at YT clubs or lounges.

This place is a ripe off they charge you to use a credit card the food was very mediocre the waitress took forever to take our order and on top of that they automatically add gratuity on your bill won't be back

Hire hookah people with experience.. there’s no way I’m paying $50-$100 for a hookah/refill and all I’m tasing is burnt coal.. i can’t even taste the flavor AT ALL… and the hookah only last for 15 mins.. no one seems to care either, even notified management .. money is too valuable to be wasted!

Next best sports bar to the old Barnacles atmosphere. Small venue, & they offer turkey burgers and great security. I feel safe here. Waitresses work together, and I like that. I pass stonecrest bars to go here because of the atmosphere and food. We'll lit inside and lots of sports fans vs young adult party goers. Very mature atmosphere every time I go. I have educator clients that all go here after work. That means alot.
