I had an amazing experience at Yami Sushi in Decatur! I ordered the salmon bento box along with the super crunchy roll, and both were absolutely delicious. The salmon was fresh and flavorful, and the roll had the perfect balance of crunch and taste. On top of that, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and fast. This spot is definitely a gem in Decatur, and I’ll be coming back again soon!

This place is TRASH!!! A friend said she wanted to try them. Ordered Hibachi Teriyaki and it was the most nastiest. I know Hibachi and this was not it. Tasteless and swimming in water. Veggies had no flavor. We returned it and the owner was very defensive and made excuses that most customers eat inside. What does that have to do with the takeout. They refused an exchange or a refund. Normally I would give grace. But this was a terrible experience and will never ever return. I don't know how they got 4 star reviews. But its a complete no.
If you don’t want to leave angry, if you don’t like wasting your money…DO NOT EAT HERE!!! The food is TERRIBLE and the customer service is even worst! I ordered a GRILLED chicken teriyaki dinner and it was no where near being teriyaki! The chicken was boiled, and it was swimming in a watery soupy sauce. It was not teriyaki sauce at all. And it was tough to chew. The Yum Yum sauce was clumpy and it had little white fuzzy dots in it. I took the food back to the restaurant to get a refund And the guy at the counter was very rude about it. He tried to tell me that the chicken was grilled and the only reason they look that way was because the sweat from the container made the chicken soft. That’s BS!! He was very nasty about it and he pretty much told me that all sales are final. I am done patronizing these type of businesses!!! Spend your money elsewhere. If I could give them no stars I would! THE FOOD IS TRASH!

My partner and I stepped into this place an hour before close and noticed a few things right off the bat. The first thing I noticed was the place was very empty but despite this incredibly clean and nice. A kind man greeted us and told us to sit wherever we want. We both ordered a Diet Coke and a Choya Plum soda. The drinks were canned and I had never had the plum soda before but I loved it. I ordered a small ginger salad and liked it, I especially liked how the salad was presented. We ordered three rolls and the sushi came out quickly, and it was very delicious. The price was also incredibly fair. Over all we had a great experience and we plan to return again.

Very warm and cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. The salmon in my sushi roll was quite tough to chew, but the tuna roll was fresh. Hoping this is just a rare occurrence and look forward to trying more on the menu.

Small place. Quiet. Fast service. Spring roll was crunchy and hot. Chicken teriyaki roll was ok, barely teriyaki flavor. Crunch roll was quite flavorful but odd that cream cheese was not spread around but a square. Bench was hard with no cushion.

I was craving sushi but wanted something nearby, so I gave Yami Sushi a try. There's free parking in the lot with plenty of space. I went in and looked at the menu inside before ordering. There were several empty tables and booths with a handful of people eating in the afternoon.
I ordered the rock and roll, which is a glorified eel and avocado roll topped with black and red tobiko. I think ~$8.50 is a little more than I usually do for an eel and avocado rollk. The rice was mushier than how I like it.
The service could have been better. I feel like they could have been more direct to me about wait times or less awkward. She was nice enough to tell me that it would be at least 10-15 min and that I could just sit anywhere.

I’ve been to this sushi spot four times in the past month—it’s that good! The portions are generous, the quality is consistently fresh, and the value is unbeatable. I got a full spread of sushi for just under $100, and it was more than enough to satisfy multiple people.
What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. The manager who takes your order is an absolute sweetheart—warm, welcoming, and even remembers your name. That kind of personal touch is rare and makes each visit feel special. If you’re looking for delicious sushi and a place that truly appreciates its customers, this is it!

I tried sushi and hibachi chicken here. The flavors were great with fresh ingredients and everything served so promptly with generous portions. The service was fantastic— attentive without being over bearing. Highly recommend this spot!

I honestly loved this place and will be coming back! The service is great and the sushi is even better. I started with the gyoza which I loved then had the shrimp tempura roll (my fav so far) and the spider roll (also really good). The boba was also really yummy so I give this place a 10/10 will definitely be back!
