Last night, we ventured to La Cabaña in Dillard, GA, eager to experience their newly opened restaurant. The parking lot was jam-packed, which usually signals a long, frustrating wait. But La Cabaña had us seated almost immediately, a pleasant surprise for a new spot that clearly needed the extra space and parking. The new building feels bright and welcoming, a huge step up from their original next door.
We started with a bowl of chicken soup and from the Lite menu, and I mean a bowl. It could have easily fed a small village. The soup had just the right kick of saltiness, loaded with at least four whole sliced avocados—so divine and scrumptious, it transported me straight to Mexico. They’re not afraid of salt and flavor down there, and neither was this dish. Every spoonful was a celebration of bold, authentic taste.
The food came out lightning-fast, and the complimentary chips and salsa were on point. The chips arrived warm, fresh out of the fryer, with salsa that could go toe-to-toe with anything I’ve had south of the border. My daughter demolished her steak quesadilla like it was a work of art, and who could blame her? It was damn good.
I opted for the steak Ranchero—ribeye with Mexican rice, bell peppers, onions, and refried beans. Each bite was packed with flavor, the kind that lingers and makes you appreciate real food. The booth was cozy, leather seats inviting, and the music in the background was the perfect accompaniment—enough to add atmosphere without overwhelming the conversation. My wife went all-in on a combo of steak burrito, ground beef tacos, and a chicken enchilada. She declared each one a masterpiece, crafted with care and bursting with flavor.
It’s not often I leave a restaurant with zero complaints, but La Cabaña delivered. The food, the service, the ambiance—everything was flawless. This place has officially earned its glowing review.
Parking: The new location has a private parking lot with at least 30 parking spaces with a couple disabled parking spaces near the entrance.

Good consistent mexican food ..
Ask for salsa Verde or salsa picante.
I'm never disappointed and get my $ worth, which is nice these days.

Overall it was a good experience. The waiter didn't seem real attentive and maybe a little dismissive is the reason for four stars.

Starting out on a positive, I did find good parking. From there we had a lot of food temperature issues- burnt tasting tortillas and warm salsa. The salsa picosa mixed in the warm salsa made it a little better. My kids said the cheese dip tasted good, but not hot enough to melt everything. Choripollo was pretty good, but chorizo can cover a lot of issues. The service was friendly, but they're really shorthanded (not her fault) and it took a long time to get anything. I won't be back. There are much better places in the area, so I can't recommend this place.

Excellent Mexican food and cold beer. We had the beef enchiladas and enchiladas suizas (chicken). The beer mug was cold as ice - love it - places just don't do that anymore.

This food was horrible - I don’t see how someone doesn’t season steak and how beans are almost white with zero flavor

Really good food and good service, atmosphere could be better but still nice. The fried ice cream was one of the best desserts I've had and for only 4 dollars can not be beat

The food has been literally sour half of the times I’ve eaten at this place. I’ve ordered beef and cheese nachos as I usually do at other restaurants and both times I’ve got nachos with beef that’s actually gone bad. I could literally smell the decay. This was rotten meat on my nachos, I’m not even kidding. I couldn’t eat it because the meat was rotten and also because I completely lost my appetite. Service gets a 3/5 because at least I got a refund for it. The La Cabaña in Clayton is great, so go to that one instead.
