The restraunt has gone downhill dramatically. Not what is used to be. Corporate takeover has ruined a good business as usual. I won’t be back. Let the corporate decision makers eat there.

If you are planning to go to the Dillard house restaurant, don’t waste your time until their construction is completed. The restaurant and store area are being remodeled, and a new hotel is being built where the stables once were. The restaurant has been moved into one of their conference center spaces and it’s just a room with table and chairs. Very disappointing. The food was better than expected for being in the conference center room. However, not all my family members were happy with the food choices. The horse stables, fire pit area and petting zoo area has been completely torn down and they are building a hotel in that space. The horse stables have been relocated permanently down the road and if you would like to just see the horses you have to get in your car and drive there. My adult children who have been to the Dillard house many times in their youth were extremely disappointed. It was quite sad for us. I wish them the best in their future endeavors however we will not return as their southern charm is gone. One last note. You are not allowed to take home any leftovers, as they prefer to throw the food in the garbage than let families take the food home. however, we heard this rumor before we went to the restaurant so we brought our own Rubbermaid bowls and took our leftovers home with us.🙂

Got there at 1:15 and was told it would be 25 min wait for 2 people. 1 hr later we finally got seated. Samuel the server was great. Food was good but not worth the wait and the price. Golden Corral and Ole Times are just as good for much less the price.

Our first time here. It was a good experience. Adults $30, children $20 with drinks & desert included. It's is a good value for the amount of food included. The service was good. Some of the dishes were very good, others were just okay. It is a fun experience if bringing guests.

No ice in the ice machine. Water sold out in the vending machine. Rooms very outdated. Smoke alarm chirping constantly in the dining room. Quality of food was poor, nothing like it used to be. Coffee was old and cold. Construction throughout the entire area which by itself is a good thing but navigating the property was confusing.
I’ve been coming here since the early 80s and it’s heartbreaking to see what this place has become.

My family has been visiting The Dillard House for about 12 years now; and enjoy it thoroughly. The food is always delicious.

Amazing food and service. Grounds are very well maintained. Worth the trip.

Very disappointed with new management and the way this place has changed and is currently ran, after trying to call multiple times before we went today to check to see if they were busy there was no answer on the phone and after we drove over an hour to dine we were greeted by a very unfriendly staff member, we were informed they no longer accept walk-ins to dine and you must have a reservation and any walk ins would have to wait for reservation cancellations to dine, one whole dining section was open and waiters literally standing around, very few guests were there. This place is definitely not what it use to be and definitely not inviting the way it was in years past. Management the changes and upgrades being made to the property are great but if you lose what made the Dillard house what it was and what it was founded on those changes and upgrades are useless.

Christmas Day at The Dillard House was an absolute letdown. We’ve been coming here for decades and this was the worst experience we’ve ever had. I’m diabetic and we planned our entire day around eating here because everything else would be closed. A week prior we were told reservations were only accepted for parties of 7 or more. We had 5, so they told us to come as walk-ins at 3:30pm. We arrived at 2:30pm to get our name on the list and walk the grounds. Instead, we were told **no walk-ins at all**. We witnessed at least a dozen other parties being denied for the exact same reason.

The manager was dismissive and borderline arrogant, even after I explained the situation and my medical condition. We drove over an hour just to be turned away. The owner was outside chatting casually with guests; when I called out to him to discuss what was happening, he walked off toward the old dining room construction area and ignored us completely.

The mismanagement is obvious. Half the dining room was empty and still no walk-ins were being seated. We were told they were refusing to seat ANY walk-ins, even though they had told us a week ago that walk-ins were fine for a party of 5. Meanwhile, there was a small traffic jam in the parking lot from the mass exodus of diners being turned away. As people left, the owner kept telling everyone that in 3 weeks he’d send 20% off coupons—honestly, that felt like a slap in the face.

Multiple family members and friends already warned us that The Dillard House went downhill in 2025. We can now confirm it firsthand. We ended up driving through town and found a small local place that genuinely welcomed us, the owner personally greeted us, and the food was excellent.

It’s sad to say, but after decades of loyalty, our time with The Dillard House might be over.

Old rooms with no TV connection.the back yard of our room is not private. We came here to relax and enjoy the backyard view. We will not be back., Sad we used to enjoy this house

We have came here for years to eat. Keep in mind this is basically Sunday buffet style but brought to your table. It was $104 for a family of 4. There are very few Americans working here anymore. This place has gone down hill.

The Dillard House is set in a beautiful serene setting. The rooms are cozy and rustic. What I love the most about this establishment is the personal touch. The staff is more like family and John Dillard was absolutely amazing at handling any problems that my elderly mother had while visiting me during Thanksgiving. I recommend the Dillard House without reservation.
