We stopped for lunch on our way home to Florida from Waynesville. We have eaten here on other trips and it has been a favorite. We ate light as we were traveling… a Reuben Dog ( hubby said delicious) and I had a burger. Everything was fresh, service excellent. We made the mistake of looking at the dessert menu …. Oh, my….and decided to take a piece of the Tuxedo cake to go. I wish I had a picture but we ate it before I thought if it. So moist and chocolatey. I wish now we had bought a whole cake so we could share. We will be back in November and I guarantee we will have that again; hopefully for supper so we can try some of the delicious dinner plates. We highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

I went last night to the valley Café to eat dinner, and I have the turkey and dressing mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra and sweet tea to drink. The only thing I can say about my meal was the sweet tea was good because it had it was sweet the rest of the meal. The turkey was cold. The dressing was cold. Mashed potatoes were cold. The whole dinner was cold. Fried okra should be served hot mashed potatoes should be hot. It was not a very good dinner at all. I showed the waitress that the okra was cold and the only thing she did was throw that one piece in the trash didn’t offer to get us a Hot meal or nothing. She went back to the back and it took her forever to get my friend stuffing That she ordered, and then when it did come out, it looked like it was a that stuff in a box not homemade whatsoever and when you spend meal you expect it to be good. It was very cold and usually I do not put negative things online but today in the meal I got last night. The waitress was really good except for you know she didn’t Offer to take it back and get it reheated or anything and I understand it was like 30 minutes before closing So you might wanna improve on your equalities at night time or at least check them out

So, a slight change in this review. We have been gone a few years and are in Dillard visiting. We ordered breakfast to pick up. The portions were small, the food was nearly cold and they refused to give me more than 2 tiny syrup packs for my pancakes, and we asked nicely. We gave the? sausage? to the dogs and also the cold dry pancakes. What a sad change. I can't recommend this restaurant anymore. Here is the previous review which is no longer valid, in my opinion >> > (My husband and I eat at the Valley Café at least once a week. We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner....all of their meals are wonderful. They even have a pickup window for folks who would rather place their orders ahead of time and take their dinners home to eat. Once or twice we have had service that wasn't great, but that is true about any place. Less than stellar service equals a less than stellar tip. We have found them to be more than accommodating when we have asked for something a little different than what is on the menu. The walls have interesting photos and paintings hanging on them, and you can see the beautiful and delicious homemade cakes as soon as you enter. And last, to the folks who commented about service being 'slow', this is the South. Everything is a little bit laid back here. We do stop and smell the roses. If you are in a big hurry, then I suggest that you go to a fast food establishment. Otherwise, come in, relax and enjoy a tasty meal with those of us who know what a wonderful place the Valley Café is! BTW, I neither own or work at the Valley Café, and I have NOT been paid to write this. 😊)

Love this place service is always amazing and the food is delicious a d reasonable. Don't forget dessert amazing!!
We had the Sunday buffet around noon. No wait but plenty of customers. Nice inside but more importantly the fried chicken was some of the best In have ever had. The small pieces of chicken fried steak were excellent, the hot veggies were good with a decent variety. The banana pudding was very good. The apple cobbler tasted great but could have used a little more breading on top. But all in all super good. We will be back.
