We visited on a Friday for lunch and found a handful of other customers. The food (fried chicken, macaroni, and cobbler) tasted fine and we dined in the restaurant. However, we thought the price was a bit steep for a plate and the beverage was not included. This establishment only takes cash. We were not greeted by either of the two staff members we encountered, nor were we acknowledged or even thanked for our patronage at Banks.
Good ol down home country cooking at it's best. I had real cream corn, not that nasty canned stuff. Snapped green beans and a fat juicy pork chop. This is the place emergency personnel and utility workers go for lunch. A meat and 3 will have you full till a late supper. This isn't some fancy place with decor and all, it just a neighborhood restaurant that only locals know about. What it lacks in decor the food makes this place shine like a 5 star restaurant.
two days ago was our first time in this excellent restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the attentive service, with the magnificent meal and fine drinks and with the modest price. We will definitely return there soon.
