I'm not sure how the food was today. I drove by at 6:45 They advertise open late, curbside and take out on there window 2xs. A guy was sitting in front that's why i turned around to see it I could get some sides. He tells me those sign were from covid. Shame, shame shame. I'll try again soon

The food was not what I expected. I ordered the he Turkey wing plate. I received 1 turkey wing, but not even sure if I received the whole wing. Well I know I didn't. Now granted I like very tender wings but only a smidgen was still on the bone. The young lady that was fixing my to go plate kept picking up little pieces of meat and when I say little pieces I mean literally little pieces. And put the in over a very small bed of rice , she asked if I wanted gravy and I might have received a tablespoon full. I also got collard greens w turkey, no flavor, the dressing was to tight and bland and the macaroni and cheese was not it either. The only good thing on the plate was the cornbread. Not happy with the food especially since I paid almost $40 for one person. Will not be patronizing this place again.

From the time we entered the doors and greeted with a smile, until we exited, full as ticks; the experience was excellent! Customer service is top notch. And the food? Soul food at it's finest. We started with fried green tomatoes. Perfectly seasoned and battered. My entree was fried pork chop, mac/cheese and collards. Pork chop was tender and delicious. Mac and cheese was cheesey to the max and flavorful. Now I'm very particular about collard greens. I find that many restaurants and private homes overcook them, until they are wilted. Not at Papa Lou's. Collards were tender, yet still had a little snap to them. Just like God intended! We returned later before closing for carry-out. We took our order back to the hotel and promptly went to sleep. But I look forward to reheating my chicken wings for lunch today. And I also got more of that mac/cheese. We did get some key lime pie cake. Oh, it's gone! We ate that as soon as we returned to the hotel. Never had that dessert before in a cake. But I'm a fan now. Thanks Papa Lou's for the exemplary dining experience. Bless you all!

Everything was perfect and I love that it’s family owned too I will definitely be going back for more I enjoyed the turkey wings and the cabbage with the collards along with a piece of cornbread so delicious 😋

Today I finally caught Papa Lou Kitchen. I have been trying to catch this spot for 2 years. I will rate everything on a scale of 1 to 5
Smothered chicken - 5 a little salty but a 5
Cabbage - 5
Cornbread - 5
Mac and cheese - 3.5 - 4 it will give you a familiar taste, When you taste this Mac
Greens - 3 I really didn't taste the seasoning
Fried Green Tomatoes - 4
Sweet potato mash - 3.5 it has too much cinnamon. I really didn't taste the All Spice or vanilla in it.
Peach Cobbler - 4.
I will make sure to continue to support this business whenever I am in the area!!

First time here 10 out of 10 we loved all the food! Customer service was excellent too.
Let me tell yoooou!!!! I enjoyed every morsel of my food today. The greens were SO GOOD!!!! They put their whole foot in it! The sweet potato mash was superb and EVERYTHING was fresh! Everything is pricey now a days but it feels better when the flavors and portion match the price. I didn't feel like I was taken advantage of. I'll definitely be back! The fried green tomatoes when you dine in... chef's kiss!!!

Came in mid afternoon, around 2. Nice and peaceful inside, the place smelled amazing. We were greeted promptly, and the staff were super friendly. I ordered a fried porkchop plate and wanted to tear up. I swear I was sent back to my childhood. So tender, moist, perfect crispy coating on the outside that didn't just fall off, and the oil didn't stick or coat like every other fried porkchop I've had since my mom passed. It literally tasted like mama used to make it. Thank you guys so much!!
